A very special island getaway! Ray Caye Resort provides the perfect balance of relaxation with adventure. There are opportunities to scuba dive, snorkel the reefs, fish, kick back and enjoy the waterslide, swim in the pools, lay in a hammock or just sit back and enjoy the view. The laidback island vibes are felt from the minute you step onto the island. The food was incredible and we highly recommend the evening dinners. We took the boat from their dock in Placencia and it was a rough 1 hour trip to the island. Be weary if you get motion sick and prepare for the boat trip ahead of time. Our only critique was the trash and leftover bar items that we saw throughout the resort and along the beaches at times.

My husband and I spent 6 nights at Ray Caye and had the best time! We’ve travelled the past few years to more touristy spots and had fun but there was also a lot of stress. This time we wanted something low key, quiet, and warm! Ray Caye gave us all of that and more! We stayed in a villa and had our own balcony facing east towards the Caribbean. The sunrises were spectacular! We loved sitting on the balcony and enjoyed the view, no matter the time of day. The stars at night were so bright and we enjoyed using a sky guide to put names to the bright stars we could see. The bathroom in the villa was great as well! The shower water was always hot and the amenities were wonderful. We used the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. Even my crazy curly hair liked the shampoo and conditioner. The bed was also great! It was on the firmer side, which I appreciate, and was so comfortable to lay in. I slept really well! One thing to note, I love sleeping in pitch black, and learned part way through the trip you can turn the bright LED light off on the AC. Just push the LED light button and it turns the light off ;). Everything about the room was awesome! Housekeeping was wonderful as well! They clean the rooms daily and top you off on anything you need (water, soap, etc). And if you don’t need housekeeping on a daily basis, just let them know. They’re so friendly and do an excellent job keeping the rooms clean. We tried to stay in the habit of leaving our sandy shoes outside on our porch so housekeeping didn’t have to sweep as often. But even so, every time after they cleaned it was spotless! The dive shop was awesome as well! Upon arrival we got fitted into snorkel masks and flippers and were able to keep them the whole time we were there. They even provide a mesh bag for you to carry everything in. The best part, any questions you have, even the ones that seem silly, they answer without judgement, with grace, and will even offer to show you or take you. For instance, they have little sailing boats and if you’re not familiar with how to do it solo, they’ll take you! They even have a first aid area for minor incidents and treat you with care and compassion. I got stung by presumably jellyfish tentacles that were stuck in seaweed and they took care of me. I felt embarrassed and shocked but I was assured it happens and that’d I’d be okay! So kind and so sweet! Speaking of the dive shop, we did the Silk Caye snorkel tour with Bryan and his crew and had a blast. We swam around one of the reefs and saw so many beautiful fish! My new favorite fish is the parrot fish! Absolutely beautiful! After that part was done we hopped back on the boat to another spot where we swam with turtles, rays, and nurse sharks. The turtles were interested in us humans and the rays and sharks couldn’t have cared less we were there. It was such a wonderful time and I can’t wait to do it again! Now for the restaurant, we got the meal plan because we wanted to just be able to o

Fabulous get away! The staff are friendly and doting, the food was delicious, there are private little beaches all around the island, plus a fun water slide in to the Caribbean Sea! Complimentary use of the paddle boards, Hobie cat, and kayaks! They have lots of scuba, snorkeling or fishing tours available. A perfect combination of high end resort and mellow island vibes. And did I mention the sunsets?

Our 5 star experience at Ray Caye Island Resort⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed 5 days and 4 nights in celebration of our Silver Anniversary & birthdays. A postcard perfect, private paradise. We were welcomed immediately with tasty tropical drinks and a tour of the incredible island. We stayed in bungalow #20, 1 of their 2 honeymoon suites. Our accommodations were clean, cozy and comfortable. We were mesmerized with the amazing view out our patio along with an infinity pool. Scenery that we could have stared at all day long. The room was well equipped with a king bed, ceiling fan, a/c and a large bathroom. There was also a side patio complete with a hammock fit for 2! The meals…OMG, the meals were gourmet!!! We read a review warning that there was only 1 restaurant on the island so our choices would be limited. Yes, there is only 1 restaurant currently on the island but it’s all you would need. Their breakfast & lunch menu is the same daily with plenty of selections. We tried something different every day. Dinner menu varied every night. The food was so flavorful and always creatively presented. All menu items are made from scratch including their delicious bread! They maintain an impressive organic garden on the island where much of the vegetables and herbs are grown and used. Their drink menu was vast. Especially loved their refreshingly yummy signature mixed drinks. We opted to include the private, romantic beach dinner for two on the occasion of our 25th anniversary. The amiable staff executed this so well. If you’re looking for adventure, the resort offers plenty of excursions. Our purpose was to pretty much chill the whole trip but we did go out on the Silk Caye snorkel. Highly recommend this excursion. I enjoyed the snorkeling but decided to stay on the boat while my husband & dive master Bryan swam with the sharks. Bryan and Captain Sydney were wonderful guides. There is also the famous Ray Caye water slide that was a fun bonus! There is much to be admired on this picturesque island but the most impressive thing about our stay was the first class treatment from all the staff. Always a warm smile to greet you wherever you were on the island. The service was especially superb in the Lionfish Grill daily from Noe, Pablo, Morris & Franklin. Warm, welcoming and always accommodating. They always had our table romantically set for two with a view at each meal. Thank you Ray Caye resort for this very impressive introduction to beautiful Belize. We hope to be back some day!

EVERYTHING about our stay at Ray Caye was nothing less than perfect. All of the staff went out of their way to make you feel special and at home. Every meal we had was exceptional and unexpected at such a small place. The views all around the property are beautiful. Seeing all the wildlife, and a few local dogs, made our stay even better. We loved, loved, loved this resort and will be back.

The thing I want to say is coming back to the island 18 months later, every one is still there. Which is a good thing! The staff are beyond fantastic. Because of them the stay, the activities, and experiences do not disappoint! I’m glad their are so many that have been working there for many years. But don’t take my word for it. Come find out and Belize for yourself!

Ray Caye provided us with an amazing vacation! We went for a week and were blown away by the hospitality and service. The island was as beautiful and picturesque as what we had seen on their website and socials. The food in particular was 5 stars. It far exceeded our expectations. They curate a different menu every day. The island is located between all the best places for any activity you could want. We were able to go on snorkeling and fly fishing excursions. But we able to do these things right off the island as well. They had ocean kayaks and paddle boards available for free. I brought one of my fly rods and caught my first bonefish right in front of the island. I hooked a massive permit as well. They were able to arrange for us to get a guide who had 30 years of fly fishing experience and we spent a day on the flats and going between islands. We caught a ton of fish and more importantly the guide was able to teach us quite a bit about saltwater fly fishing. We went snorkeling at silk caye and were able to snorkel through reefs with many different species. We were able to see loggerhead turtles, reef sharks, eagle rays, and so much more. They have a great nighttime light setup to allow for night snorkeling as well. We were able to snorkel at night in schools of giant migratory tarpon, rays, and permit. The rooms on the island were clean and modern, with an AC unit that worked quite well. The island also has a fitness center so I was able to keep up with my workouts. There are also two pools on opposite sides of the island. There was plenty of space, even with a wedding party and lots of families that we never felt crowded. Above all, the hospitality from the staff was amazing, and we felt cared for and right at home. We will definitely be back and would recommend Ray Caye to anyone else looking for a an adventure of a lifetime.

The view from our villa #20(honeymoon suite) was probable best ever. Staff was excellent including Mr. Franklin at the bar. Did have two hiccups. Had scheduled a snorkel trip in the morning. When we got there they had gone scuba diving, had to reschedule. Also on last morning we had to leave at 8 in the morning on the boat. That caused us to have a 7.5 hour stay in the belize city airport. Felt this could have been avoided with better communication from there original emails when booking the trip.
