Great place, nice and safe. Responsive at all times with our pre reservation enquiries which we consider very important. We contacted other resorts in Coronado such as Playa Blanca hotel before hand and none were as responsive as them. Take good note that Coronado is a gated community with not much access to the "outside world" but hey! not that we needed it. We spent a week long sailing charter in the Caribbean with Catamaran Adventures and we wanted to extend our glorious stay in Panama

Interesting place. I wouldn’t use the word ”luxury” to be honest. A strong feeling of the 90’s. Despite high season it felt like we were almost alone in this enormous resort. Not that we like crowded places but being almost alone in both the resort and the beach club for three days it almost felt spooky 🙈 Two pool bars of which one just felt abandoned.. But nice rooms, ok food, great staff. So, the place have potential but I wouldn’t call it ”luxury”. They could for example shape up the Kids area in the little house that now was just empty. Put some tables, chairs, papers, pens, crayons, hobby/handicraft stuff for the kids to get some break from pool/sun. But, I repeat - all staff was GREAT. ABOUT THE AREA - NOT THIS SPECIFIC HOTEL Another thing to be aware of in Playa Coronado is that it’s like a Gated Community with only private beach clubs. No public area like ”ocean walk” with shops and restaurants, no cosy ”town/village center or street” like we are used to from European beach destinations. For us that was the most negative thing with Playa Coronado, we don’t like to be ”stuck” in a resort. For me, it’s strange with a beach destination that doesn’t have a bunch of public restaurants by the beach with ocean view 🤷🏼‍♀️

A group of us played golf then ate poolside after. The golf staff were courteous; the restaurant staff indifferent, the food the worst we had throughout our Panama travels. We had played 4 other courses in Panama, and Coronado pricing is similar but there’s no value …a serious **** problem and to find real grass or a fluffy lie was a challenge. The restrooms on the course and at the “spa” were broken and dirty. We didn’t see the rooms, but didn’t need to because we all agreed we would never return.

We visited in the shoulder season and pretty much had the whole resort to ourselves! Our room was big, clean and there was a pool literally right outside our patio doors. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Luis in the restaurant was top notch and Navella at the spa gave a superb deep tissue/ therapeutic massage. Very easy to lose a golf ball on the 18 hole golf course as the fringe gobbled them up - but I guess, if you are good enough to stay on the fairway, you wouldn't have a problem. This resort is NOT on the beach. There is a shuttle that will take you back and forth though. The only drawback was the traffic jam going to and from Panama City. It took about 2 hours one way - no matter what time of day or night.

First time in Panama. Coronado is a great beach town with friendly expats. Will definitely be back and want to stay at this resort and at Martha's Airbnb Suite 1121. Her place was impeccable. The resort itself has incredible amenities, on-site restaurant, room service, beautiful pool, golf course, tennis courts, nice size gym. The staff was gracious and lovely. I felt at home and at ease. Martha was super responsive and ensured we had all the info we needed. When you are on the road and in a foreign country, "your trusted guides" are so important.

I can't write a review of our room, as it was booked through Air B&B, not with the hotel, so this is just about the hotel part. It is an aging 'luxury' - showing its age with areas needing repairs. The complex is spread out with 3 stories of suites - some with balconies, many without. We stayed there mostly because they have pickleball courts, and the couts are pretty good - if you know when to play and can get in with other local players. The pool area is also very nice - different pools and lots of room to spread out. We did not have pool towels provided in our rental unit and there weren't any available at the pool. The gym looked pretty good, although we didn't use it, or the sauna. There's a good restaurant and bar on site, and the one meal we had at the restaurant was decent and not over priced. We only ended up staying 2 days because our accommodation rental was terrible, so didn't get to enjoy more time at the 'luxury club', or take their shuttle to the beach. The location is OK - but about a 10 minute walk if you want to get to the beach, or else take the shuttle. Seems most people who stayed were golfers. Biggest complaint was difficulty getting taxis to come pick us up - and even when we had asked the concierge to arrange a ride for us a day in advance (checking out to another location), it never arrived and the guy at the desk was of very little help.

Terrific Stay! The service at the Coronado Luxury Suites is top shelf. The staff knows well how to serve. The pool is expansive and well kept. The breakfast was very fast and basic. But good! We especially loved our room with a pool in front of our patio. You can easily walk to things in the Coronados but the road is gravel and uneven. It was a great stop-over stay.

It is truly unfortuante that trip advisor has chosen to lump all the different ammenities here under one heading. The hotel was nice. Although there are no laundry facilities in house. The sports bar was nice but the service atrocious ( and no you may not blame that on "well that's just Panama". La Teraza restauraunt was very good and the sevice splendid. (the restaurant and bar are in the same building. The golf course staff were exceptional, the girls in the clubhouse, the fellas in the customer services and the groundskeepers. The golf course is nice but very challenging in its layout, from an overabundance of traps, both sand and water, to sloping fairways that can make it difficult to stick a shot to unreceptive greens that you cannot hit and stick. The pools are nice and include to pool bars. Lots of chairs spread around. There is a free shuttle to take you to the beach club, a twenty minute walk away, and it has a bar, restaurant, pool many chairs along the beach and lots of sand.

My wife and I stayed here from November 18-21. Check in was smooth and easy, and they whisked us out to our room on the 3rd wing. The room was hardly a suite, it lacked many necessities for certain, and needs updating badly. The furniture was shabby, worn, discolored and dirty. There were only 2 plates, no silverware, only 2 glasses, no coffee cups, (if you wanted to use the coffee maker), light bulbs were out, no soap, no tissues, only one roll of TP, and the safe didn't work and there was rust all around the room. The curtains would not close withing 8 inches of each other, so the sun greeted us daily. The bed was comfortable, and the AC was excellent, on the positive side. The terrazza restaurant was a constant battle, as the menu stated that you could have a side with entrees, and then they always tried to double charge you for it, so then you had to argue about it. At the tables that were outside, the ant problem was awful. I killed at least 75 ants while waiting for my omelet, and when I grabbed a sugar packet out of the holder, there were dozens of ants that came out with it. Gross and unhealthy. The menu was not friendly at all to vegetarians, pretty much grilled cheese, margherita pizza, and a side salad were the only choices for the 2 restaurants. On the positive side, the golf was tremendous. we got lucky both days on the weekend and the sun came out, and the course was wonderful. It's not often you get to play with crocs on about 8 of the holes. There are several great and memorable holes, especially #8 and #17, both par 3 uphill shots over very scary ponds with crocs and turtles milling about. We did not take the shuttle to the beach, regrettably. Driving in the neighborhood is a real challenge, as the roads are simply awful, full of giant potholes, and unpaved sections where your rental car may bottom out, so go very slow and be ready for anything.
