SOL Hotels in Playa de las Americas

It's been 15 years since my last trip to Tenerife and the comments below are based on international five star hotel experiences around the globe. So here's what I experienced on this reservation:- Positives 1.Check in / out process fast and professional. 2.Direct beach access via the pool area. 3.Breakfast buffet with internal and external seating choices was excellent. 4.Evening entertainment between 21:00 and 23:00 Hrs was good. Negatives 1. Allocated R3101 upon arrival and entered to find the bath tub was extremely dirty and required solvent cleaning to remove large accumulation of water scale dirt around plug area (Approx 200mm in dia). Root cause of this problem is a leakage from the shower hose connection which remains to be fixed. 2. TV was on and could not be turned off. This was rectified by Maintenace changing the batteries within the remote control. 3. Sink plunger mechanism was broken and I was shown how to remove the plug on a daily basis once housekeeping cleaned the room. 4. Locking mechanism on the balcony sliding door is broken and extremely hard to open / closed. 5. Only one, yes one pool towel provided / guest at the pool via a plastic card that you are required to exchange at the pool towel bar. If you forget this card it's a return trip to the room. General Travel Tips. 1. Taxi from TFS Airport to hotel cost 25 Euro each way. 2. Hard Rock Cafe located next door (£££). 3. Great Italian, Thai, Japanese and British restaurants located on the second floor off the shopping complex across the road from the hotel (££££)

Hotel located in a very central area close to everything, buses, taxis and entertainment. Swimming pool on the seventh floor a little small but sufficient. Excellent service, very available at all hours even at night, credit to Ignacio, a fantastic and friendly person. A piece of advice, even if the hotel is a little dated, go there, you won't regret it. The breakfast is excellent, I don't recommend dinner, go to Playa as you are spoiled for choice about what to eat. Excellent and it's holidays

I went on holiday with my partner far away to celebrate our anniversary and we were super lucky and got an upgrade to one of the duplex with golf views, absolutely beautiful and massive for the 2 of us, but it was a bit disappointed as the room was not clean enough and the housekeeper had to come to clean the bathroom a bit better and also the horrible stains on the floor in the room but after that everything was perfect and we were very happy. The hotel is very good located if you are looking for a quiet place to stay far away from the hubbub but be aware that you need to take taxi to get the beach or rent a bike or a car, walking distance is not an option. The swimming pools are really good and you have plenty of space to sunbathing. The staff at the hotel are exceptional and with a high level of customer service and always willing to help, special mention to Martin from the restaurant and also Raul and Diana from the Reception, very good customers service and happy to help. The breakfast was really good and we were very impressed with plenty of variety for everyone and the staff really efficient. On the negative side we would like to mention that we would have liked a small touch from the hotel to say congratulations as we got engaged and we mentioned to Diana and Raul from the Reception and also to Martin but not a small little thing to say congratulations like a card or 2 glasses of prosecco or kind of. About the room, we would like to mention that the mattress are not very comfy as you expect from a 4* hotel and even though the room was very well equipped we missed a bin in the room and we had to use the one from the bathroom in the living room. We did not eat at the restaurant so I cannot tell about the food there and we did not use the gym or the spa either. We will definitely come back next year.

I loved this hotel. Me and my boyfriend decided to go on a short holiday in half term and chose this hotel as it was relatively cheap whilst also being quite central in playa las americas. When we arrived the hotel is very clean. We got to our room and we had been given a double family room for the 2 of us. i didn’t book this so this was a nice surprise as we had a double balcony which looked over the sea and we could see the sunset. The bathroom was lovely and the rooms were very clean with huge beds, cleaned every day to a perfect standard. In the morning we had a buffet breakfast which was extensive and filled us up, the dinner buffet was also really nice and changed every night with fresh food also being made in front of you. The pool side had lots of chairs and we never struggled to get a seat, the pool was nice and a nice temperature. There was a bar near the pool with crisps and drinks and on the last day there was a pool party with music and rubber dingies which we both loved as it was some entertainment. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the beach and the main bars and we managed to walk to many different areas with no problem. I would definitely recommend this hotel can’t fault it

It's a crime that we have to leave, we said to ourselves, as we sit on the balcony hearing the waves wash against the shore, but it's our last day in paradise, and we have to leave this beautifully appointed Hotel at the end of the Golden Mile and a short walk through the amazing Hotel gardens to the private beach where each evening you can watch the beautiful sunset. The breakfast each morning had everything you could ask for, from Capers to Smoked Salmon, from Hard Boiled Eggs to Eggs Benedict and a range of breads and cheeses that we've never seen bettered in any other Hotel Breakfast Buffet. All staff from cleaners to the management were friendly, professional and attentive, you don't have to fight for sunbeds as there are more than enough to go around, you've the pick of being by the pool, cafe/bar area or in a more hidden locations snuggled amongst the trees, we've stayed in many good Hotels in Tenerife, and this Hotel is head and shoulders above any of them, as you may guess, we'd a wonderful stay and we go to Tenerife 2 or 3 times a year and in the future this will be our go to Hotel.

We were here September 2023 & we really enjoyed it we returned this June 2024. A couple of the previous animation team have sadly left Victor & Mica but Javi & the 3 new girls Marta, Laura & Yumi were brilliant. We had a great time with them. On arrival we had a bit of a wait to check in, must admit they still dont have enough staff on reception, same as last year. We were finally checked in by a very welcoming Nicole. She gave us all the detailed info for the All Inclusive package. We had HB last year. Also our room was ready which was great. Room 101 with a Seaview. Room was very nice, small but fine. Great view of pool & sea. Only ****** was everytime we showered (daily) it flooded the bathroom floor. Just a bad fitting seal. We mentioned it to reception when we checked out so hopefully they will sort it. We just got on with with it but to other guests they may complain. We hired the safe. Makes me laugh about comments on money going missing etc. Hire the safe!!! Simples, yes you have to pay but for the amount it's a no brainer!!! You get the deposit back. Food this year I felt had slightly gone downhill. Choice & quality not as good in my opinion. The restaurant & pool bar staff were great as usual. Evening entertainment was good although for June there were alot of young children running about, over the equipment being set up for some of the shows & the parents doing nothing!!! Seemed left to the animation team to calm them down!! Not on. Parents take responsibility for your own kids! I'm sure they'd have something to say if they hurt themselves. Location of the hotel is great. Everything you want in a stones throw. Again makes me laugh when people say it's over a loud bar. Dont people do their research before they go?!
