Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen

The room had a strange smell, even after the hotel staff used deodorizing spray. The air conditioner in my room wasn't cool, despite the employee being informed. Flies were present in the bathroom sink. My bedroom was right in front of the hotel, resulting in loud pub noise until 3 am.

The best location

Alex was phenomenal. The service it the best. I would stay again and again. Everything about the hotel Hyatt Centric is exceptional. The hotel is central to everything. I can’t wait to return. Playa is one place I will continue to vacation. Book it. You won’t regret it.

The rooms at this property are a clear reflection of its overall decline. Our reservation was downgraded to a smaller room without explanation, setting the tone for a disappointing stay. Inside, the linens were mismatched, old, and stained, and the amenities were stripped down to the bare basics, offering none of the comfort or quality expected. Accessing the patio was unnecessarily difficult, as furniture obstructed the doorway, forcing us to nudge it aside and climb over to step outside. To make matters worse, non-guests were allowed to use the property freely, further diminishing the experience for paying guests. The lack of attention to detail and upkeep in the rooms mirrors the neglect seen throughout the property, making it far from the luxurious experience it once was.

Great location, service, and excellent staff both in the downtown hotel and its addendum the beach house a few blocks and on the beach. The rooftop pool is great and has a beautiful view of the sea shore as well as a great pool where to cool off while enjoying your favorite drink and listen to some background music.

This property is a gem in Playa. The food, staff and drinks were amazing. Unfortunately, we went during spring break and for 3 nights of our stay the neighboring property had EDM concerts and loud music playing until 3am each morning. That was not the fault of the staff of the Hyatt. We heard it in our room and that is why I rated the facility a 4. It is conveniently located and the views of the beach are breathtaking.
