The room had a strange smell, even after the hotel staff used deodorizing spray. The air conditioner in my room wasn't cool, despite the employee being informed. Flies were present in the bathroom sink. My bedroom was right in front of the hotel, resulting in loud pub noise until 3 am.

The rooms at this property are a clear reflection of its overall decline. Our reservation was downgraded to a smaller room without explanation, setting the tone for a disappointing stay. Inside, the linens were mismatched, old, and stained, and the amenities were stripped down to the bare basics, offering none of the comfort or quality expected. Accessing the patio was unnecessarily difficult, as furniture obstructed the doorway, forcing us to nudge it aside and climb over to step outside. To make matters worse, non-guests were allowed to use the property freely, further diminishing the experience for paying guests. The lack of attention to detail and upkeep in the rooms mirrors the neglect seen throughout the property, making it far from the luxurious experience it once was.

We’ve stayed at The Beach House at Hyatt before, and it was never in this condition. Wanting to enjoy a relaxing day, we opted for a day pass, but the experience was nothing like what we’ve come to expect. The service was terrible—despite it not being very busy, we constantly had to get up and ask for things instead of being attended to. It felt like the staff just wasn’t paying attention. The most disappointing part was how run-down the property has become. We’ve always liked this spot in the past, but now, everything feels neglected—rusty, breaking down, and overall very cheap-looking. It’s clear that maintenance and upkeep are not a priority anymore. Given how much this place has declined, we won’t be coming back. There are much better options in the area that still offer the service and quality expected from a Hyatt property. I appreciate you keeping me accountable. Let me know if you’d like any further tweaks.

This location is right where everything is nightlife , restaurants and shopping 5th Ave . The Staff ALFIE was so friendly, helpful and kind , he make you feel at home and Wellcome . The suite was fashionable and sexy love the bathroom. And the music by the pool was good they play afrobeats even when you enter into the hotel I give this place 5 Stars all the way

I have stayed here many times before. The Hyatt has some work to do in order to uphold the Thompson previous experience. I came to write a review because one person made our stay incredible. JUAN POOL. 1.He has an amazing attitude. 2.Smiling all the time. 3. Went out of his way to help us, from changing out room to restaurant suggestions 4. Greeted us with respect and kindness 5. Important to praise an employee like this. He needs a promotion! Thank you Juan. Not just a bellboy. A real gem :)

We loved our stay at Hyatt Centric in Playa Del Carmen. Lounge chairs by the pool overlooking the Ocean is a very nice feature. Breakfast was very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Balcony was roomy and comfortable with good furniture. View from room and Balcony was fantastic.

Excellent hotel with access to a beach house property. 1. Earplugs are essential for a good night’s sleep, but once you wear them, noise isn’t an issue. 2. WiFi is decent—good enough for remote work, though it occasionally drops. 3. Management should update the Google Maps pin to correctly show the entrance, as the current location is causing confusion for drivers picking up guests. 4. The Globalist breakfast is underwhelming, with only one main course allowed and no add-ons like extra protein. 5. For Globalist upgrades, if you book a room in the main house, they will only upgrade you within the main house and not to the beach house property.
