Medora Auri Family Beach Resort

We had a lovely 4 night stay here in April/early May 2025. I think we had beaten the main tourist season, so the hotel seemed relatively quiet. When we arrived from the transfer we were really impressed with the hotel, and the welcome drinks were a nice touch. The place was spotless and the rooms were the same. The beach opposite was almost empty so we could take our pick of the loungers. The cafe bar opposite the beach did lovely cocktails and pizza, which they brought over to us. Even though this is a family hotel i can honestly say I hardly saw any children , as they seemed to be well catered for with the kids club etc, and the childrens pool was on a different level outside to the adult one . When we were there there was an offer of 30% off all drinks at the hotel bar, and the staff were great- it is all table service. My only minor complaint would be that the food seemed to cater for the German tourists, not the English- even though there was a great selection of food, we really only ate salads for our main meals. It would have been amazing to have had some red or brown sauce at breakfast, as the eggs they made were stunning. Also, the air conditioning in our room we could not get cold setting for, maintenance told us is was set for warm which was strange, and there wasn't a plug socket close to the mirror. We booked an excursion from the place in the hotel and the lady was really nice and helpful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here, the views were stunning and there really is a nice ambience, especially sitting on the bar balcony overlooking the ocean . There were plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance, and also shops and ATM's

Absolutely brilliant hotel. Very clean, excellent happy and obliging staff. Half board food was excellent with great fresh choices at both breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed our week here and it’s highly recommended. Don’t often want to return to the same hotel but we have been blown away here.

The best hotel in Croatia! Wonderful place, the best beach, excellent services!!! Everything is at the highest level, accommodation, food, wellness, Thai massage. I recommend the hotel to everyone, families with children /all-day program for children/, older couples / quiet hotel/.

Very nice hotel, good breakfast and dinner buffet with wine and beer inclusive. View from the balcony is very nice and had a very calming vibe. Service from the bar is great, very friendly, quick and attractive. I would recommend ordering a drink the call antique, it's a local vermouth drink and you get cool points if you order it

The hotel is great for families, there is nothing to complain about the services. BUT: it is neccesary to have rules on the beach because people not only occupy the first row with chairs and towels and they leave it unoccupied by noon (problem already described in many comments), but they are effective blocking (!!!) the access to the beach with extra umbrellas or personal belongings, so you cant pass them!!! Basically you have to make a biiiig detour to get to the beach from your back row chair, because everything is blocked by the ones in the front row. This is so rude and so inacceptable, especially when that beach is full of children. You took the first row, i get it, it’s rude but it is what it is. But you cant be THAT rude to deny others access to the beach or to make them Lose time with detouring because your lack of manners. So the manangement of the hotel must regulate this aspect because it seems that common sense doesnt work here.

Review by Scandinavian family with two kids aged 9 and 11. Location was perfect for Podgora right at the beach promenade and close to what you get here. Sunset every evening and clear water. Hotel provide towels and sun-beds but you have to up 0600 morning to get your sun-beds and place you towels. The longer you waited the longer back you came. At 9:30 all was gone. We saw many times people came 0600 went back to sleep and then around 11 came to the beach.. Food at hotel was under average. Overcooked/undercooked meat, pasta, dry fish. Didn’t find one potato or fries that were crispy. Maybe you get what you pay for. To sum it up: quantity ＞ quality. Decent variety but there were so many people. We tried different times to eat, but way too many people and it was loud inside. The music was so bad(lounge style) load from morning to evening. One machine that provided soda and the drinking glasses could maybe take 125ml.Hotel personal at dining area took your plates when you ate your last bite. We found it pretty stressful and annoying though we have experienced it other places this was exceptional and interrupting us many times under dinner. Hotel rooms were clean and good service there. Fitness had bad air conditioning. Some cardio machine. Up to 10kilo dumbbells. A barbell and a technogym machine for leg press and push/pull which were of newer standard but bad in my opinion. Pool we didn’t event try. So many people and impossible to change from beach to pool since as said … you have to grab your place early if you want to have a sun-bed and umbrella. Shopping in the mini markets at the promenade can provide with the simplest you need but was really disappointed with Podgora versus for instance Cavtat where we found the restaurants and atmosphere must more to our liking. Will I come back? Never and I would not recommend others with so many better alternatives.
