We chose to stay in the penthouse, attracted by its pretty decoration and the breathtaking view, with an idyllic beach just below. However, our experience was marred by several disappointing aspects of the service. First of all, the welcome was expeditious and unprofessional. During check-out, we waited in vain for the person responsible, who never showed up or informed of his absence. Luckily we were able to hand over the keys to the caretaker, but that added some stress to our departure. In addition, the frequency of cleaning services was below our expectations, with a cleaning lady only present every other day, which does not correspond to the usual standards in Mauritius, especially given the high rental price. Our peace and quiet was also disrupted by intrusive maintenance interventions, including a disinfection of the apartment with chemicals (which we refused) and a water heater repair with three people present. These interruptions considerably altered our sense of privacy and comfort, forcing us to stay on the terrace to avoid inconvenience during the procedure. Unfortunately, the house next door, under construction, with noise from grinders and hammers from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., made it difficult to appreciate the calm and beauty of the place. As regulars of Mauritius and high-end rentals, we found that the price paid was not justified. Finally, the kitchen is under-equipped for this rental category (no blender, electric fruit press, fountain for filtering water, etc.). Although the exceptional view and the charm of the apartment were positive points, they were unfortunately not enough to make our stay as idyllic as we had hoped for by paying such a price. What a pity.
