Hoposa Montelin

Just arrived home after fantastic 14 nights at Montelin Apartments in No 412. The apartment studio is exactly as described -large bed , sofa bed , small kitchen area with fridge , microwave and 2 ring hob. Bathroom featured walk-in shower and toilet. Balcony was spacious and over-looking the pool. The staff visit every day to clean, changed towels etc. All service staff very pleasant. The pool area was always quiet, with beds available and of a good standard. Finally the location is perfect , 5 mins to beach and 15 min easy flat walk to Port of Pollensa. When we return here, we will definitely stay here again. Added bonus you can also use Hotel facilities if you wish.

Great apartment that was perfect for our needs. Super comfortable beds, extremely clean and really powerful hot shower. Great to be able to use the bike garage and facilities at the next door Villaconcha. Location really convenient for everything in Port de Pollenca. We will definitely be back.

We loved our visit here, our first time, but definitely not our last. The little complex of Montelin is a breath of fresh air, small and peaceful with the most comfortable beds ever and good large shower. Everything was spotless thanks to the lovely ladies who visited every day to clean. At night you could hear a pin drop it was so quiet, a lovely relaxing stay. Thank you, we look forward to returning soon.

We stayed there for a week, 2 adults and 2 small kids. When we arrived to the hotel and came to the room, it was obvious that they didn’t clean after the previous visitors, they hardly managed to change linens. But a dirty room was nothing compared to a smell - it was a homeless cat vomiting on our terrace. There are a lot of cats on the hotel territory and cats food everywhere, so a cat met us with vomiting under our door. When it’s plus 39 degrees outside the situation needs to be solved asap. My husband tried to clean and I run to the reception. The only response from a girl on a reception was: “So what do you want from me?”. (Please teach you staff a phrase: “How can I help you”) They promised to send a cleaning lady but nothing happened. We cleaned by ourselves with that things that we had. So if you choose this hotel, don’t forget some cleaning products We stayed in a room with 1 big bed, a baby crib and 1 single bed for our son, but it was too high for him, plus all beds are on wheels that makes them very unstable. A baby crib was very dirty, so we ended up sleeping all 4 in a 1 big bad, that in fact consisted of 2 running apart beds on wheels. Apart of beds, a dining area is also totally uncomfortable for children due to high bar chairs. Among good stuff: a cozy green area with a small swimming pool.

Fabulous weeks stay in the Montelin Apartments, so peaceful and quiet but still has all the amenities which are accessible to the adjoining main hotel the Villachoncha which is just a short walk across the road. Breakfast was in the main hotel lots of choice plenty of food and places to sit. We had taking bikes out so we used the bike room which provided everything we needed. We also swam in the 25m heated pool which was great for a proper swim session. We ate one evening in the main hotel which was a BBQ night we felt this was good value for money at €26 with a free bottle of wine all the food was super tasty. The staff were fabulous especially on reception super helpful with details of where to cycle and booking the spa etc. The apartments have everything you need lots of space and nice little kitchenette, we were in room 201 which was in a perfect position and had the sun on the balcony all day. Would highly recommend and would stay here again whether travelling for a family break or to go do some training as in cycling swimming this hotel offers it’s all.

Overall an excellent experience at the Montelin Apartments with friendly and helpful staff. We will certainly return at a future date. Our only gripe was the level of tourist tax since we were charged 4 euros per night each + VAT at 10% i.e. 4.4 euros total. This, according to web sources should only be charged for 5 star hotels in Majorca which the Montelin is not. Could the management comment on this i.e. were we overcharged? In comparison this year we also visited Madeira which has no tourist tax and Chamonix, usually considered an up market and expensive alpine resort where we were only charged 2.3 euros pppn for a 4 star hotel. Of course the charges are not levelled by the hotel but by the local goverment but it does provide an indicator that Majorca is becoming more expensive. We spoke to several regular visitors to Puerto Pollensa during our stay who complained about the significant increase in prices in local restaurants this year.
