We have been coming to Lalith since 2008 it used to be called intercontinental then. This was our 5th visit since then. I have seen the slow and steady deterioration in service levels staff quality and maintenance. The towels are a lot thinner, the coffe is watery, the donut was hard and so was the idly, the sambar was too sour and so were the staff attitudes. It started with Gisella giving me a 3.5 lac rupees quote for 5 nights for a family of four, only breakfast. They have 285 rooms plus suits, each room the size of a 2Bhk in mumbai. Occupancy is for 3 people, she could have easily added a bed and charged me for it. But no, let us fleece the few customers who come here. Canacona is the end of Goa, people who come here come to be in the beautiful resort, looking for a quite family time. Adding meals to packages is a great idea, but a brand starts to lose their audiance when they stop understanding them. The legacy lawns are a little overgrown, the furniture is a little lighter, the cushions feel like they are stuffed with plastic and the staff definitely is callous. The location is supreme even today it's still very quite compared to the loud north goa resorts. I was in the gym when two photographers came with large lens and starting filming the gym, when asked they were kind enough to say we are not filming you. Thank you for that. The shower cap took 30 minutes and two reminders. Lalith change before you lose it. You are too beautiful for that.
