Viraggas Traditional Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at this fairytale location 🤩 This small hotel is surrounded by the forest and it has a sort of magic to it. A lot of attention to details has been given to the interior and outside design. We loved the absolute cleanliness of the house and the atmosphere in the garden as we enjoyed, several times, the elevated menu creations of Vasilis ( which we also highly recommend). You definitely need a car in order to explore the surroundings. Around 20 minutes drive there is a very big and quiet sand beach with beautiful clear water. A lot of suggestions about what to visit came mainly from Vasilis and Adina. A big advantage of this location in the summer is the fact that you can sleep without air conditioning. The temperature difference when compared to the seaside resorts is significantly lower and more pleasant. To conclude: This place is really ideal if you don’t like crowded places, don’t mind driving a bit to the nearest beach and appreciate home-made food.

Although the hotel owners were pleasant and helpful in every respect, we were disappointed with several things about our stay there. We know people have different preferences to bed hardness/ softness, but we found them to be very hard and slept badly. We realised from the description that The hotel was in traditional Marcedonia style but the bathrooms were very dark and the lighting hardly sufficient to wash and shave.The lounge area for guests to relax in is like a museum and difficult to relax in as even the coffee table etc had antique pieces on you were worried about moving. As for the closest beach being 15minutes away…a joke. If you stick to speed limits i would say more like 30 minites. When booking this holiday the description told us the swimming pool (Plunge pool) would not be open for the first 5 Days of our 12 day holiday….the pool was not filled till the day before we left! If we had known this we would definitely have not booked this holiday! Finally if you book a meal at this hotel, try and get an estimate first as you wont normally know the cost till after you have had your meal and for us they were the most expensive meals we had during our stay! Really surprised and a little suspicious it has such good reviews!

I read other visitors accounts and booked this hotel for three nights. The place is special, the hosts gracious and the vibe is friendly. I recommend wholeheartedly. When it turned out I’d forgotten an item at the hotel the owner came to Thessaloníki and handed it to me in the reception of the hotel I was staying at. Now that is more than ordinary service and kindness! Thank you!

We had a very pleasant stay at Viraggas mansion. It's a charming and quiet place with a very delicious home made prepared breakfast (pancakes and fresh orange juice are the highlights). Thank you for your hospitality!

Vraggas mansion is so unique tucked away in the village of Vrastrama far away from the crowded beaches of Sithonia. It’s been beautifully and tastefully restored by Visalis who along with Alena are 2 most amazing, helpful and kind hosts The rooms are large and full of charm we had one with a private terrace with just the sound of their own chickens nearby. From the first moment we entered and were greeted by Tommy their dog we knew we were at home. Breakfasts are amazing with each day Visalis preparing a little treat and always a fresh egg included. We dined in the evening and had 2 superb meals which couldn’t be faulted. The village which you can walk to has a couple of tavernas one of which we went to and had a typical Greek meal ( not a patch on the ones cooked by Visalis though) Such a special place we felt so sad to leave as it was so comfortable and peaceful. We wish our hosts well they have created something really unique and went out of their way to make our stay so perfect Thank you both

Just back from the perfect holiday at Viraggas . First of all the hosts - Vassili and Adina . cant say enough about their outstanding welcome , giving you the feeling of home away from home. Taking care of every need and attention to any request. they will go out of their way to assist you. Their personal touch is the magic of this special beautiful mountain hideout. Vassili has constructed with his own hands the perfect guesthouse , warm , cozy and welcoming . the living room and bedroom is filled with vintage and historic items collected over the years adding to house a special vibe . The App they have is perfect and has many local travel recommendations such as beaches , hiking , navigating ,food and more .Breakfast is lovely , different fresh items each day and a private dinner is a must cooked to order by chef Vassili .
