Honestly, I’m not even gonna lie Mercure Hotel in Newport is such a wonderful place! From the moment we arrived, the receptionist who attended to us was super lovely. She explained everything about our voucher clearly, and even when we had to go back downstairs to ask her something (because I wasn’t really paying attention but my man was 😅), she was still so patient and kind.
The whole experience was amazing. I had a really great night the bed was super comfy, the food and dinner at the lounge were delicious, and the service throughout was top-notch. Breakfast the next morning was also soooo good! The hotel was spotless, the vibe was calm, and everything felt just perfect.
I genuinely recommend Mercure Newport to anyone planning to stay in the area. Whether you’re visiting or you already live in Newport, you have to experience how clean, luxurious, and peaceful it is. It’s such a relaxing and cozy environment! 🖤✨

Wow what can I say last minute booking so not expecting much
But as soon as you walk in the staff make you feel so very welcome even had free refreshments in reception
The lift security and your card very important on your own
Room was fabulous clean and wonderful view and lovly tribute to Newport transporter bridge
TV didn’t work but was moved with no fuss to another room
Able to sit on terrace in sun
Then evening meal was served by friendly staff
even boxed up rest of meal as do much
Bed very comfortable
Shower was a bonus not to claim into a bath to be accessible
Breakfast very good and agsin helpful staff with a smile
Definitely recommend a stay here well done to all the staff

I have come to repress my company branch as the Salvation Army is celebrating 150 years in Newport
I really enjoyed their excellent service
The facilities were modern and new.

Aircon was very poor, not sure it worked at all. Toilet seat was loose.

You'll have to park at Friar's mall car park, which is a short five to ten minute walk to the hotel. The parking has good rates, especially the overnight 6am to 6pm deal @£1.50. For me, this worked out at around £3.50 on average depending on what time you enter and leave the car park. You'll be looking to pay about £4 plus the hours added to the overnight charge. Good treadmill in the small gym, dumbbells, cycle machine, and one other machine. Great breakfast!

Great overall stay. The room was modern and very clean, with a large TV infront of the bed which I loved. The only downside was that casting did not work on the TV. Despite following the instructions, it never worked. Would have loved to watch my own shows as the arrangement of the room made it like a cinematic experience.
