A very run down establishment. I received an extremely poor standard of customer service. Front desk staff are not trained well enough in how to greet and welcome guests, let alone request documents and payment, which borders rude and arrogant behaviour. This hotel is perhaps more suited to locals who dont mind the smell of fish. The rooms smelled of mosquito killer vapour mixed with fish! The hotel seems to depend on its location infront of the beach, however, it does not justify the room rent charged. There are much better hotel options within the city of Porbandar itself. Dont be fooled by this hotels location. When we arrived at Lords Inn Hotel in Porbandar, things quickly went downhill. Despite having made a reservation well in advance, we were told that no room had been booked for us. As a result, we were forced to accept a double room, even though we had specifically booked a twin room. To make matters worse, full payment upfront was demanded from us but was not taken only due to the fact their contacless card machine was not working (or this was possibly a dilberate stunt to not accept card payment as they know payments can be disputed if paid by card) The room was uncomfortable, and the mobile portable mattress bed provided was in poor condition. Additionally, we had requested an ironing board, which was also was in poor condition. Our stay was further marred by incredibly unprofessional behavior from the hotel. After a long and tiring day of travel, upon checkout their payment machine suprisingly did not work, and I had said we will try to make alternative arrangement to pay on returning to our hotel at our next stop. Mr Manoj Tanna suggested that we go to an ATM, at 7AM, so we can pay with cash. This was not convenient as we had a longish drive to our next destination. Rather than calling us directly, the hotel contacted the hotel where we were staying that evening and chased us for payment via the hotel. This attempt to disrupt, embarras and inconvenience us was completely unnecessary, especially when we had already made the booking directly with them and they had our phone number. It seemed as though they were trying to give the impression that we hadn’t made the payment, which added unnecessary stress to an already frustrating situation, when the failing was on their part in not being able o accept payment. This hotel seems to rely on its beachfront location, but even that doesn't justify the subpar service or the unreasonable prices. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere in Porbandar, as there are much better options available. Don’t be fooled by the location – this hotel is a complete disappointment.
