The area was nice along with a lovely sea view, but on our second night here we noticed bed bugs in one of the beds, the moved us to another apartment but still didn't feel particularly clean, and i have returned home to find out that I have contracted scabies after staying a weekend here. The manager Dave refunded half of the cost when we found bed bugs but am still waiting to hear back off of him for some sort of compensation after being diagnosed with scabies. Would not stay here again.

Booked this hotel as working local for a week … woke up on the thursday morning early covered head to to in bed bug bites Went down and contacted reception immediately and was replied with “ not again though we got rid of them “ Then asked if i had been staying in the single room or double room told them the room with the two single beds And was met with oh thats weird it is normally the other room … Contacted the owner asking for him to cover the cost of the clothes and suitcase i had chucked away ( think fair considering not an isolated incident ) he also said that there was no signs of bed bugs in the room ( as you can see by the pictures there was 2 dead beg buds left on the bed ) … if you want to chance it go ahead

If disappointment had a location, it would be Kittiwake House, mismanaged by Dave. The moment I stepped into the room, a nauseating stench of neglect hit me. It was as if the sheets had been marinating in dampness and the towels, reeking of a week's worth of use, mocked basic hygiene. The electricity meter saga was a cruel joke. Presented as a 'minor' additional charge, it quickly morphed into a daylight robbery. The initial £5 credit vanished within hours, and the subsequent top-up rates were absurdly inflated. When we reached out to Dave, hoping for understanding or a solution, we were met with contempt. His rudeness peaked when he hung up on us, bluntly refusing to cancel our next night's stay or offer any form of refund. He audaciously claimed that £2 a day was more than adequate, which barely powered the heating for a few hours. Adding insult to injury, after we decided to leave due to these intolerable conditions, Dave cancelled our booking and falsely marked us as a 'no-show', effectively silencing our chance to formally review on the booking platform. This underhanded tactic to prevent honest feedback will not go unnoticed, especially since I have photographic evidence I did in fact stay. Claiming a 4-star rating, Kittiwake House is a masterclass in deception. From its hidden costs to its appalling hygiene standards, it's an establishment that not only falls short of basic hospitality norms but also redefines the lows to which a lodging can sink.

My grandson and I come for a few days each year and Kittiwake House suits us down to the ground. Our room had stunning views of the amazing Port Erin beach. The electricity is metered but there is sometimes enough credit on the meter for a summer visit. We love returning.

Positives: - Good location. - Good views. - Affordable price for 4 night stay. - Helpful owners. - Sheets were perfect and towels soft. - Kitchen appliances (Fridge , toaster ect:) were all fantastic and of good quality. - Quite spacious. - Quiet area and not much traffic to wake you. - Electric metre didn't deplete fast but still should be included in the billing and its rate. - TV was smart (Even though no internet) and has full ariel with no latency. - Adequate lighting and heating available. - Spacious wardrobe and decent quality furniture apart from the deck chairs. - Mattresses were comfortable. - Z-bed was also available for larger amounts of people. - Heated towel rack was useful however it had to be turned on from the outside of the flat. - Free WiFi, however see later point. Negatives: - Water pressure in shower specifically was dreadful and needs to be improved on. - There is also an electricity metre in the kitchen which was not previously mentioned until the stay was paid for. - The kitchens accessories weren't adequate. (No oven glove , No spatula , No oven trays , Lack of tea towels , Wash + Dryer hybrid was very rattly and noisy. - Flat was quite cold and unless your were willing to constantly top up the metre, it would stay that way. - Cobwebs on the walls. - Lack of overall cutlery and utensils. - Bathroom light pull string broke and the toilet was very loud and i had to let it stew until the morning due to the sheer noise it'd produce if i flushed it. - Kitchen chairs were outside deck chairs which are unsuitable to use. - No way of disposing your rubbish from the bin. - Windows wouldn't open properly. - Had to be out at 9:30 which meant i needed a very early start. - Lack of overall decor, the place lacked character itself and needs a severe modernisation. - WiFi was horrifically bad even though the router was stationed outside the door and the Smart TV cannot be used properly due to this. The WiFi (as bad as it was) doesn't reach the full depth of the flat, leaving no signal in the end rooms. - No designated area to park leaving minimal areas especially in the summer when its at its tourism peak. BIG NEGATIVE : All rooms are upstairs and with no wheelchair access through either ramps nor lifts. Please state this in your desciption! This is all written by someone who owns a holiday home and is not an attack but merely constructive criticism.

We stayed 2 nights during the TT races. The view from the house is spectacular! We stayed in apartment 5 which is a third floor walkup. Certainly got a workout carrying all our motorcycle gear up all those stairs. The house is very cute and in good condition. There was plenty of parking outside on the street for our motorcycles. The washer/dryer machine in the apartment was great to have. The bed was comfortable, and the location is quiet (we were in the back of the house). The heater worked great in the bedroom where we used it. The house is a block away from a big grocery store and several restaurants/bars. Before you arrive look online for the hours that each are open, as they closed much earlier than we expected and the first night we went to bed hungry. If you've only stayed at AirBnB locations in the US you'll want to know there are some differences. First we had to pay for electricity by putting coins in a meter, so make sure you actually have pound coins on hand for light and heating water. Second, the only household consumable items provided in our flat were dish and hand soap. There are no paper towels and no laundry soap. This caught us by surprise, as we arrived late after the stores were closed and were unable to buy soap and do laundry that evening. I struggled with figuring out the hot water to the shower so I ended up taking a bath instead. I'm sure another night there and I would have been a pro! The water heater works fine, but you have to know what you are doing. We would definitely stay at Kittiwake House again, making sure of course we arrive with pound coins and plenty of time to shop the big grocery store right after we arrive.
