An excellent family lunch, in what is a lovely location. We were made to feel very welcome by a really friendly team and were extremely well looked after by Jasmine and her colleagues. We would thoroughly recommend it, and will be back very soon.

Had a really nice light bite at this place. Avocado and feta on sourdough. Arrived with lovely side salad and crisps. Beautifully presented. Service was great albeit a little slow, new staff in training. Definitely go back when next in area.

After being totally disappointed by the service and menu at Pilchards, we opted for the restaurant at this hotel instead. Oysters and fish and chips to die for!! The oysters were huge and garnished well and the haddock was beautiful with a lovely light batter. Accompanied by really well cooked chips and a delicious curried tartare sauce and peas. Definitely a must if you are passing or staying in the area.

I went with my wife to have a look at the pub which had recently been refurbished. The service and food were both excellent and the newly refurbished pub looked great. We'll definitely be back and look to stay next time. The location of the site is faqbulous and so close to the beach and coastal path

We stayed in Port Gaverne in Venus cottage which was right beside the Port Gaverne Hotel/pub. We were really lucky as the weekend we left the pub was closing for a refurb. We found the food drink and atmosphere was great and all the staff friendly especially a young woman from New Zealand who we unfortunately didn’t get her name. This all made our stay extra special.

This was our worst meal in seven weeks travelling across the UK. Shepherds pie was so over salted barely edible. When we told the staff they said “ yep the cook does put a lot of salt in his food”. The crab brioche was shameful. The bun was so stale it was almost like a rock. Couldn’t eat it and the crab was the smallest amount you could barely taste it. To add insult to injury it was very expensive. The only good thing about the place was the lovely staff and the drinks. Can’t go wrong with a Guinness.
