It was very rotten, very poor, and very old. I saw at least two big flying cockroaches inside. I was so scared that I had to fold up all the suitcases to sleep. The water in the toilet was also either ice cold or scalding hot. I felt very uncomfortable. Fortunately, it was only for one night. . . . . . . . . . .

We just returned from a few nights at Mangoes Resort and highly recommend it to anyone considering a holiday in Vanuatu without kids. The location is excellent - close to town so that you can take advantage of the bars and restaurants nearby, but far enough away to feel quiet and peaceful. The tropical gardens and pool areas are lovely and the outlook over the lagoon below made for a relaxing setting. I will miss having my breakfast and coffee each morning looking out at that view! The highlight of our stay was definitely the "trust the chef" dining experience we had. The set menu the chef created was delicious and the setting was great. It was by far the best meal of our trip.

Lovely view of the lagoon, wonderful infinity pool. Convenient gym facilities, friendly staff. Good location for a 20 min walk into town. Restaurant gives consistent service. Would recommend to others. Rooms have the basics covered. Gardens well maintained

Lovely quiet location where staff were eager to help out and very helpful. Good location with easy access to taxis. Will book again when I come back to Santo. Restaurant is worth visiting - dinner is excellent and worth a visit. Few pools to choose from and all were beautifully kept.

We spent multiple hours scanning through hotels on Vanuatu and decided to go with Mangoes given the positive reviews about the food and our lack of willingness to move around to find a superb dinner. The accomodation is nice with a great view over the lagoon. We stayed in a room with lagoon view and private plunge pool (it was unfortunately too cold to use it). Absolutely no regrets. Rooms are spacious and the resort has all amenities you need. Some elements are a bit older but nothing too worry about, A/C and fans didn’t less us down. The resort has multiple on site pools and free access to the facilities of the neighbouring Terrace boutique hotel. All can be arranged by the hotel or you simply walk 15 minutes down to Port Vila to figure things out on your own. The Trust the Chef menu was an amazing experience with the resort doing tons of effort to make it your own private experience including setting up in a romantic setting, personalising the menu and customising any dishes to align with your favorites. The chef explains every course and did make delicious food. Definitely would recommend this experience whether you stay at the resort or not! For a long time we were in doubt about staying at Mangoes or the Irikiri resort but we are sure we made the right choice. Irikiri is remote (dependant on ferry’s), seems older and the “view” from the island was blocked by cargo and army ships and a far-beyond-any-glory ****** hotel. If you are in doubt yourself, don’t pay the 3x price and enjoy your stay at Mangoes!

The perfect venue to relax and do nothing or use as a base to explore. The villas are very comfortable (highly recommend private pool villa), food is excellent, didn't have a bad meal, staff are helpful and very friendly, grounds a beautifully maintained.

My wife and I were holidaying in Aussie and needed to get away for a weekend. We chose Vanuatu and the Mangoes Resort. Really wonderful and were surprised at the all round attention to detail from the service, food , cleanliness and the Resort in toto. The Vila had a unique tropical island view of the lagoon and hills in the distance. The Staff were attentive, the Food very exclusive. The Manager Chichi and her happy staff and the service made it all happen, Thank you Mangoes! The De Silvas from Sri Lanka
