First time stayed and it did not disappoint. Hotel is clean and spacious. For the extra family rooms were big and worth it. We had dinner one night and food was great. Breakfast was also great with a lot of choice. Staff were friendly and responded to everything we needed. Train station minutes away so can go a lot of places. We visited Barmouth such a nice place 55 mins on the train. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable.

Simply very good value for money. A two night golf break with my son. Good location for the surrounding golf courses. An old, traditional, a little dated hotel but comfy, homely and friendly. Very clean with a good bar and restaurant. In fact, the restaurant was bordering on excellent. We don’t normally eat in hotel restaurants but evening eating options early in the week in Porthmadog are limited. So we gave it a go. Good balanced menu, fresh tasting, nicely cooked food which was well presented. Efficient service. Very good indeed. No wonder the restaurant was busy. Breakfast also good. Hotel also has helpful and friendly reception staff.

I had a 3 night stay down at this lovely hotel for Work. What can I say…. The most friendliest of people!! All so happy to help, room was spotlessly clean and the beds were so comfy it was the best I had slept in months. Breakfast choices were great (especially for a fussy eater like myself) I left in the mornings with a full belly and a big smile. Would happily stay again! I had to cut my stay short to return home and the Team were so understanding and accommodating to my needs. Thank You for a wonderful stay guys

The hotel is in an excellent location for visiting the surrounding areas. It’s is on a Main Street surrounded by shops and good transport links. There is a Tesco 2 minutes walk away. The courtyard bedrooms are quirky however could do with some investment and TLC. The staff are very nice and friendly. There is a great covered car park and a lounge area. The bar is nice and modern, clean with good variety of drinks. The food here is amazing and highly recommended!! The hotel is within walking distance to the harbour, Ffestiniog railway and a short drive to Port Meirion. We would stay here again if we visited the area again.

Lovely staff nice quiet room at back comfortable double bed ensuite bathroom tea coffee etc in room hearty full Welsh breakfast n right in town so near shops big Tesco nearby n lovely little shops n chippies etc all nearby I really enjoyed my 3 nights stay at royal sportsman porthmadog gorgeous scenery too

No great issues here. A middle-sized traditional hotel, perhaps getting a bit tired in some respects - nowhere looks recently updated or refurbished. No lift. Good dinner menu, but breakfast could have been rather more extensive. Pleasant staff. Single bedroom just about large enough, but en suite bathroom very tiny, with ridiculously small basin. Room servicing variable from day to day. Very convenient location, close main line railway station, and not far from FR/WHR and WHHR stations. Buses right outside - reliable services, some electric vehicles.
