So I booked the room via booking, knowing that my card would be charged this past weekend, something went wrong and even tho I tried to sort it via telephone my card did not allow payments to booking website, so I had to wait until today Monday to go to my bank and sort it. I wrote to the hotel on Sunday asking for a bit more time and their reply was simply ok. Today Monday morning I woke up to my surprise the booking was canceled. Bear in mind this is 4 days before our trip and a very special occasion as it's the são Joao festivities in Porto. We are a large family and finding locations for us to stay last minute is nearly impossible. This was very upsetting that they probably got another offer and didn't even bother to ask how the situation was, it also seems to me that they treat tourists better than locals as their first message is also all in English and does not have the Portuguese side. I have tried contacting the booking website to no avail. In a matter of hours I've sorted the problem of my banking and I have just payed for another hotel in gaia which is not the location we wanted but its the only available right now. I just wanted to let you know my terrible and very stressful experience with this site and hotel. Greedy hotels and hotels with poor service don't last long and karma is a b***.
