Résidences Ouadada

We spent only one night there while touring Porto Novo. The garden is lovely. The breakfast was fine. The bed was small and hard, the shower was not contained and got water all over the bathroom. There was loud music all night long. I don't remember much else about it.

What a great find this place was! Spent three nights here recently. I communicated with the owners Helene and Gerard in advance of my arrival and they arranged for me to be picked up at the airport (I arrived late in the evening). My room was pleasant and modern. Nice bathroom. Was hard to turn the key in the lock but it seemed to get easier as time went by, new lock maybe. My only complaint would be that with just a thin sheet on the bed I woke up cold from the air conditioning. The garden was a relaxing place to spend time. They even have a stage and host concerts and cultural events. Food in the restaurant was variable. I ate one of their specialist dishes, which was great. The chicken and the beef kebab, average. There was always an English speaking staff member around. Through them I arranged tours to The Black River, Ganvie and a city tour. And they helped me with onward transport to Abomey - shared taxi, they drove me to the place where they leave, negotiated for me and arranged for the driver to drop me at my hotel. Were I to return to Porto Novo I would absolutely stay here again. Merci pour tout H&G and your team!
