Davenport is an absolute treat! I couldn’t believe how CLEAN it was! The bedding was perfection! Coziest bed on earth! Fresh flowers, filtered water and homemade treats. We will come back every year. All shops and restaurants within walking distance.

We stayed a very cold and wintery night at the Davenport, which we found to be so cozy and comfortable. It was perfect - very attentive staff if we needed anything at all, really nice touches abound. Wonderful location close to shops and restaurants, quiet for sleeping. Very comfortable bed! I would stay again without heistation.

It’s the little things that make all the difference. This inn has all the BIG things that matter. Brand new, Convenient location, Clean, Comfy bed, parking, easy check in. But it was the little things that made it special and will make me return and tell all my friends. The Valentines candies left in the room, the fresh homemade banana bread and cookies downstairs, the wide variety of seltzers, and especially waking up in the morning and finding the snow already dusted off my car after a snowstorm. The owners were very responsive and were so so lovely. Due to the snowstorm we had to leave town early, but we will most definitely return again to take advantage of all that Portsmouth has to offer.

Beautifully restored inn with comfortable, well appointed rooms. The host was extremely friendly and helpful with answering questions and recommending local activities. There were complimentary beverages and snacks in the lower level pantry which was a nice convenience and much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Portsmouth.

Our room was beautiful, with thoughtful touches that added to the experience. The inn’s location is perfect—just a short walk to all the fantastic restaurants. We loved every moment of our stay, especially the cozy robes provided in the room. Overall, the Davenport Inn is a true gem and the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. We can’t wait to return!

We had such a lovely stay at the Davenport Inn! It’s a charming, upscale 8-room inn in the heart of downtown with beautiful rooms and bathrooms, comfy beds, gorgeous decor. The type of place where the owners put their heart and soul into it and it shows! They were wonderful—they personally made sure we had a great stay and made the Davenport the perfect home base for our quick weekend getaway.

This is a beautiful historic building. It is walking distance to downtown and the shops and restaruants. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Great shower with a separately heated bathroom. Included complimentary snacks and filtered water. There was no office on-site, but management was responsive via text.

The loft suite was one of the most unique spaces we have stayed in! The details, cleanliness and feel were all top notch. We are local and wanted a getaway before the summer ended. Portsmouth is one of our favorite places to go and this part of Portsmouth was so quiet and quaint. We would absolutely love to stay here again!
