This an excellent pub and place to stay. I've just returned from a four night stay. I found the small one bedroom annex perfect for my needs. Large comfortable bed, tea & coffee, fan and large bathroom. It exceeded my expectations. The pub was great, and I found the selection of beers disappointing. I personally prefer local or craft styles. Here, it was just the general beers you see everywhere. However, the beers they did have well kept and priced right. Sunday cavery was excellent. I over heard thr chef say they often do well over 150 plates, so that speaks volume. There's also a large beer garden which was amazingly kept. I would definitely recommend the pub and the accommodation and will probably return next year.

What an amazing place. Recently stayed for two nights and found the room to be exceptional with added touch of tea/coffee facility with Brownies.... Garden is very well kept and a delight to sit and while away time. We had breakfasts and found them to be lovely, plentiful and at a good price. Hosts Claire and Mark make your stay, they are so welcoming and always ensuring you are happy and have everything you need. Such a shame this place is not on our doorstep as we would be frequent visitors. Hope to plan a stay again.... highly recommend booking here, you will not be disappointed.

I had a lovely evening in the company of some Australian friends who were also staying there. The place looked very promising as we walked into the bar area yo meet them. However, we had to look for staff to "check us in". We were brought across the car park to some obviously new accommodation and was very impressed with the standard of it. I found the bed a bit on the short side, but was extremely comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. The bathroom had a lovely shower, but the toilet seat wasn't the original one and was an in correct size. The biggest disappointment was the the food in the restaurant and was not anywhere near what I would have expected. My duck was tough and poorly presented and my partners chicken and mash was very unappetising and when asked was everything okay, I did comment on it. Our friends had a shared platter and it certainly did not look very appealing. I was hoping the breakfast might redeem itself, but the sausages were tough and given the cost of it, plus having to pay extra for tea and coffee made it a disappointment. £65.00 fir four very average cooked breakfasts was overpriced Overall, the place was lovely, the staff friendly, but not sure they took on board what we said. We have stayed many times in similar sort of places and this has the potential to be up there with the best of them, but they need to get the food side of the venue addressed. We had a lovely evening with our friends and the food, although disappointing, didn't detract from our evening with them.

This has been my second time staying and I didn’t think it would be better than last time but it was. Claire and the team really went above and beyond for us. The staff are so friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable. It’s nice having the rooms separate from the pub. We are definitely going to regulars. Oh and the food is outstanding! There are no words with how grateful we are and the special touches they did for my birthday. Honestly, if you get a chance to visit, then do! Thank you so much for an amazing couple nights!

The food is freshly cooked. Staff very friendly. A lovely atmosphere. The Sunday Carvery is special and really good value it topped up fresh throughout the day. There is a big choice of vegetables and always 3 meats. The pub menu is great too and they have themed nights in the week .

Firstly the three of us ladies were greeted by Jamie, who made sure we were looked after from start to finish. Our meals were absolutely amazing, our compliments to the chef. and a big thank you to Jamie. We would highly recommend The Old Talbot, and we will certainly be coming back.

Fantastic room, nicely decorated with a nespresso machine and home made brownies. Nice pub on the grounds serving delicious food in a cosy environment. Very welcoming staff who even offered to carry my bag to the room. I would definitely stay again.

A beautiful room with lovely decoration. Everything you need in a hotel room. Very stylish and cosy. You can tell these rooms are very new as ours was spotless. Just a short walk across the car park to the pub where they had live music and good food. Only downside was that there was ‘muck spreading’ going on in the nearby fields! (But that’s not the fault of the pub.)
