Residence U Mecenáše

Absolutely loved staying at U Mecenáše. Our apartment was on the top floor and was fabulous. It had so much character with the beams and the history of the building and the location was perfect, with short walks to all the major attractions. Staff were lovely and helpful too. If climbing stairs is an issue then I would advise getting one of the apartments on the lower levels but I thoroughly recommend staying there.

The apartment is very clean and well equipped . The location is amazing very close to many local restaurants and walking distance of Prague castle. I would definitely recommend the breakfast hamper as it is generous and very good quality . In fact it did us two meals ! The staff were all friendly and courteous . Helpful with ordering taxis and general information . We had a lovely stay .

Great location, large apartment, staff is excellent and helpful. Be warned about their airport transfer service, it is not reliable! Would have given 5 stars otherwise. The service was quite late on arrival, no big deal… but on departure, at 4:40am, nobody showed up and no communications. After 10 minutes of trying to reach them, the owner claimed some police check delay, stating he could send someone soon. We used Uber which was plentiful and arrived within 2 minutes, thankfully, as our flight was at 7am.

Lovely clean well maintained apartment on the top floor. Air conditioned, quiet despite all he restaurants below, good cooking facilities if you want to be independent, lovely bathroom, very comfortable bed, friendly staff, and really well located to all the main tourist locations. Trams a minute walk away. Great eating at their restaurant below. Be aware there are no lifts and some narrow stairs in some of the apartments up to the bedroom so guests will need to be able bodied. We loved it. Highly recommend.

Where to start?? Stay here, just stay here. You won't regret it and you will be so happyt you did! The location is absolutely perfect for anyone visiting Prague. It's a completely different world than the crowded and super touristy Old Town. You can be in Old Town and across the Charles Bridge in a 5-10 minute stroll, or you can go up the hill to the Prague Castle and Petrin Tower. You can feel the history oozing out of the beams in the apartments! This has a neighborhood feel with tons of bars, cafes, restaurants and the Castle overlooking you. Multiple trams stop right at the corner, making your transport options easy and endless. We had the 2 bedroom attic apartment with a castle view. As people have pointed out - 3 flights of stairs for the top level rooms, so keep that in mind with any mobility issues. We did not need a 2 bedroom as a couple, but it was very nice having the extra space to spread out and we used one bedroom for luggage and clothes storage. The automated window blinds and AC were welcome sights to see. The restaurant downstairs is very good, as is the entire row of cafes that line the street. However, it was quiet at night, as well. The women working at reception were friendly and quick. The breakfast basket lasted us 3 days, as well! The bathroom is split into 2 rooms, a water closet and then the shower/laundry room, which makes getting dressed and ready easy. Having access to a washer was a huge bonus as we were there in a heat wave and definitely used it. The apartment was a perfect place as a home base for 6 days in Prague! We would recommend this place to anyone and would definitely return! I don't know why anyone would stay in a Marriott or a brand hotel over this type of place!
