Sometimes you stay in a hotel that just doesn’t fulfill its appearance and Costello di Monte was such a hotel. Lacks atmosphere and service in restaurant was painfully slow. On entering our room we found the ac set at 30 degrees and the bathroom underfloor heating so hot you couldn’t walk on it.

One night stay, arrived to find the room at 30 degrees centigrade with a heated bathroom floor that you could not walk on with bare feet. The hotel lacks atmosphere whilst being clean it simply did not give us a great feeling. Service in the restaurant was extremely slow, a lady at the next table to us went to the kitchen to ask someone to take her order.

On our return after three years we were so disapointed. The hotel had decided to allow a company to use the grounds for a fashion photo shoot. They prevented guests from using the small lawned area and the area around the swimming pool. In addition the menu for the evening meal was very limited. These are not the sort of experiences one expects from a 5 star accommodation. Next time we want an overnight stop near Johannesburg airport we will be avoiding this place.

An elegant sojourn was had at this hotel. The location and hotel are stunning. Rooms are spacious with all the amenities needed. The restaurant is great with a fixed priced menu. We would recommend a stay here.

Beautiful tuscan theme is to die for and consistent througout. The staff welcomed us warmly and were an absolute delight! What a beautiful stay and amazing experience. We'll be back with the whole family soon!

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It's a very small hotel with only a few rooms. The views were nice and they even arranged for us to have happy hour on the roof to enjoy the sunset. Breakfast was great and dinners were amazing. We expected to taxi/uber to restaurants, but the food was so good and varied every night....we stayed at the hotel. The wine list is solid and the service staff were very helpful. On days when we had to leave early for a tour, they ordered our breakfast the night before and it was ready.l

This lovely hotel was elegant and restful. Relaxing music played in the lobby as we checked in and were offered a cocktail. The service was impeccable and quietly attentive to every detail. Beautiful ambience and delicious food. Total luxury!
