I keep returning to this place and find myself compelled to re-review it. The new owners continue to invest in the property and all improvements have been thoroughly thought through. But most of all, hats off to the wonderful Tracey-Lee, who manages it. What a professional. Her attention to detail is second to none, and her breakfasts are simply the best I have ever experienced- and that is saying something coming from a regular visitor to The Tuscany, in Wilderness!! Simply superlative, and wholly relaxing.

Our family had the privilege to stay in this Fabulous gem in Prince Albert over the new year 2025. The food was fabulous, the people were fabulous and the whole stay was excellent. Tracey the manager went out of her way to make sure we are comfortable and well fed. We spent the warm part of the day under the many umbrellas next to one of their 3 pools. They have a stunningly old Wild Fig tree with no less than 5 additional trunks all about 1 to 2 meters away from the main tree trunk. A truly magnificent tree. We will definitely go back there asap.

The setting and surrounds together with the exceptional service and attention to detail is something seldom found in the Karoo, the new owners and their team have taken it to another level. Every request is catered to with a smile and a ‘no problem’. The food is delicious and sets a new standard in Karoo dining. Well done and looking forward to our next visit!

An excellent stay. I wasn't aware that De Bergkant had recently received a 5* rating and, having stayed there 3 times previously, I always thought it was fabulous anyway. However, the difference was noticeable; Tracey and the team could not do enough for us. Every detail was looked after; the rooms were great, the breakfasts were superb. Can't fault my stay. Superb!

Another superb stay at this little gem! We have stayed in 2 different suites and a standard room over the past 2 years and all were fabulous! Great bathrooms with double showers and free standing baths. Quiet aircon. Lovely pool areas and a breakfast fit for a king! Thank you to all the staff for an amazing stay

We spent 3 weeks travelling around South Africa and from the moment we arrived at De Bergant we understood it was a special place. Tracey went out of her way to anticipate guests needs and we never saw her without a huge smile. We had a suite for a couple of nights and the small details (fridge, bar sink etc) made all the difference to our stay in high temperatures. The breakfasts are exceptional and worth travelling for!

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed at this hotel and is one of the reasons to visit PA. The historic hotel is beautifully run by Tracey and her team and they keep the place immaculate. Rooms are well equipped and comfortable and the whole hotel is beautiful with 2 swimming pools. Breakfast is stand out amazing - Tracey is a great cook and you will be treated to special treats everyday. This is a destination in its own right
