Wonderful place to disconnect. Good breakfast, very varied. Beautiful music and spacious rooms. We came for our anniversary and they gave us a bottle of cava as a gift 🥰

We stayed here for 10 days in January, bed and breakfast. We loved this hotel only thing that I would change is the location. My mobility is terrible and it's up a very steep hill. We didn't let it spoil our holiday as we had taxis which were only 4 euros to the centre. Staff were all polite and very friendly. If you like a balcony request one as we had a terrace facing the road. Rooms were clean and tidy. We bought all inclusive drinks bands for the 3 days we stayed in during the day. Only 14 euro a day . We drunk more than that in soft drinks and coffees around the pool ,so well worth it. Plenty of choice for breakfast, missing it now I'm home.

We got to the hotel around midday, i booked the hotel a good few months in advance and it looked really lovely online, had some trouble with signing in but receptionist was kind, went up to our room to drop our stuff off and that’s where the disappointment began, i booked a double room got given a triple (didn’t realise they are basically the same so you get whatever is available) very odd layout with a tv facing the door, three single beds, my partner phoned down to reception and asked why we had a triple room with three beds, their response was “we can push the beds together” my partner said it was okay we can do it ourselves and that was that we left the hotel to explore the town a bit and grab some bits, on return two staff were duct taping our bed together (very strange), your charged if you wanna use the safe, ac was awful, being up in the “attic” was basically like a sauna it got so hot at night that we ended up rearranging the whole room so that the beds can be next to the ac that was blowing out warm air during the night making all 8 nights very uncomfortable for us, we did our best to stay out the hotel as much as possible and if i knew it was aimed for the french and german guests i would of never of booked, if your British don’t bother, your made to feel very uncomfortable especially with the other guest’s don’t really understand what their issue was with us but surely they know staring and looking you up and down is quite rude, we avoided breakfast as best as we could to avoid any contact, all in all our holiday to tenerife was amazing and we are looking forward to coming back… just not at this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay here especially after reading some of the reviews. We had a room in one of the smaller buildings and it was sufficient for our needs. It was clean and comfortable with no frills. The bed was comfortable and, if we desired, the bedding was changed every day as were the towels. The English channels do not work on the tv but we didn't mind because we're not on holiday to watch tv. We had an outside area to sit in which was nice and quiet because we didn't overlook the main pool area. The food was of good quality (except the pasta that was cold) and we found something to eat every day, one of us being a picky eater! There was a fish dish and meat dish every day along with two different soups, plenty of salad and bread, pizza and paella every day. The cheese and biscuits were a nice touch and the desserts had plenty to chose from. The waiting staff were a mixed bag, some being quite rude. The only drawback we found is that we had to eat our dinner staggered because if we both left the table together we would come back to find it cleared which was quite annoying. The pool area is nice but the loungers could do with an upgrade, some of them were quite dirty and it would be nice to be able to set them with the backs a bit higher so they could be sat upright but that is a minor point. The grounds are well kept and are pleasant. The shuttle bus was a real bonus as this hotel is quite a walk from the main town. It ran at regular intervals but beware of the afternoon returns as they are not as frequent as the mornings. The drivers are phenomenal negotiating some very tight turns. The hotel is more or less surrounded by rounds on three sides, one of which is quite busy and noisy at night with motorbikes revving past at all hours. We would have appreciated some sort of welcome pack in our room with information about the hotel and the surrounding area. There was some brochures in the main entrance and some bus timetables and there was some information on the tv but a welcome pack is always a bonus. The excursions that were arranged at the hotel seemed to only be for the Germans and French which was a bit disappointing. There is a bar with live music every night but we are not drinkers so we didn't bother going. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

Pros Lovely hotel Rooms are so clean and spacious Hotel staff were very kind and welcoming Great big swimming pool Clean swimming pool Towels provided if needed Great shuttle service into central shopping centre and pick up provided also Taxis are cheap we got a taxi in the town centre up to the hotel and cost us €5/€6 The cleaners do a fantastic job of cleaning the rooms and that service was offered every day Cons Food is very continental , style ( more Spanish ,French , German style breakfast) beautiful food was always made but prefer a more wider variety especially for picky or plan eaters Sun beds where not very clean due to the grass being patchy in some places , We didn’t mind ( it’s on a hill ) so might be a challenge for some people either get the shuttle or taxis if you don’t want to be walking as it’s on a steep hill We noticed the last two nights there was 1/2 cockroaches that appeared up over the top of the door frame , the only come out at night , we had the doors closed into the rooms so it didn’t bother us to much , There is a lot of older people in general in north Tenerife , so definitely more older vibe which we really enjoyed the peace and laid back atmosphere Overall we had a great first experience in Tenerife all the staff at San Antonio really made the experience enjoyable with there friendly and welcoming manner which is always such a great way to be . You are abit away from the town so you will have to travel into the town if you wanted to try different bars and restaurants, but there is a fantastic local bar/restuants that does lovely food and cocktails it’s about 5 min walk form hotel Alberto’s bar ! Definitely recommend that also ! Amazing view and great food the owners / staff speak really good English which is helpful

When booking this hotel I was unsure due to mixed reviews, but I'm reviewing based on our stay, for 4 nights. 1. Hotel is on a hill, but manageable for walking. Check in from 15.00, one out of 3 rooms were not ready and we had to wait around 1 hour for the final room to be ready, during the time waiting I went to reception twice and was told 30 mins, again another 30 mins. Not what you need following a long journey from leaving your home. 2. Rooms are a decent size, beds comfy. needs decorating but was clean on arrival. The back door to the balcony had stripping paint, could cause splinters, the door also had cracks in so daylight was entering through not enough to disrupt but a door should not have any cracks in anyway. Walls are so thin you can literally hear everything, luckily we were in the same booking group of our neighbours but the only thing separating our room was a single door. So no privacy noise wise. Obviously can hear traffic outside and the cleaning cupboard was literally next to our room, so from 8am, you will be woken up by cleaners, as they are not quiet nor considerate! Cleaners came in when we had DO NOT DISTURB sign on (although we were not in the room it's not the point. For towel changes, place dirties on floor to be replaced otherwise you will have to use the same towels. No bin Liners in bin. Although can't be helped we had 2 cockroaches in our room throughout our stay, we informed reception lady for cleaners to come in and remove, 1st time she forgot to ask colleague, and 2nd time she called whilst we were at the desk, but noone came to remove them! 3. NO KETTLE/TEA MAKING FACILITIES IN ROOM!. 30 euros to hire one! 4.CASHLESS HOTEL 5. Freezing cold pool! Not many people used it. 6. Food- we were bed and breakfast, there was a variety of buffet style food but personally did not feel it catered for all. If you wanted to purchase buffet lunch it costs 12 euros and for dinner costs 15 euros but this does not include drinks! and you get the smallest cups for hot drinks!! But pool side have selected lunch menu and snacks. 7. Most guests were alot older ( retirement age) mainly German and some French. Although this didn't affect us in anyway, this could make people feel uneasy about feeling isolated (we were a group of 5 english), some Welsh visitors were there too. On the plus side, we had lovely weather, 6 euros to the town puerto de la cruz, one way. There lots of restaurants, bars, and sea views. Is walkable about 20 mins but hilly. Personally we will not be staying at this hotel again. Hope this helps.

Comfortable beds ,hotel felt like a retirement home and definitely not for English speaking people didn’t converse with any other guest. I felt the room was ok couldn’t understand why no kettles or cups in a room that had a fridge , especially as we were there for b&b basis the worst part for myself personally was no smoking any where on the hotel grounds except the roof terrace or the front which I found extremely inconvenient & wish I’d have known this as I would not of considered this hotel and the pool water was absolutely freezing & spoilt our experience of swimming
