Marina Bayview Gran Canaria - Adults Only

MBV staff are amazing, the pool is immaculate and studio apartments clean. Bar food pricey but tasty. If you love lying in the sun this is absolutely the hotel for you because there is no shade around the pool. There are sun shades but they offer no shade as the shadow hits a few paces behind the beds and there was only one spot where you could reliably have shade throughout the day. Guests were reserving sunbeds and some not returning until 10/11am and the hotel did not enforce their own ‘do not reserve sunbeds rule’ So if you tan up nice and wanna boil like a lobster MBV is a fantastic hotel. Conveniently located, 10 min walk down 150 steps, through the tunnel to port and beach. Restaurants a plenty. Hands down best two meals we had were at Costa Grill Mar (port) and Happy Vally (shopping centre). Adult only hotel, was nice a quiet. You can also use amenities at sister hotel opposite that has an infinity pool and lots of families. Great to watch to watch the sunset from.

This was our second stay at the Marina Bayview Hotel and it lived up to our expectations. The hotel is quiet, clean and well located above Puerto Base. Some different levels so be prepared for stairs and climbs. Our room was in the B sector Select room. The only minus was the poorly organised check in. We had to wait 2,5 h for our room at the pool bar. I would recommend the hotel to couples who enjoy a quiet holiday in GC Puerto Rico.

Stayed for a week in February 25. Generally the facilities and the hotel were pretty good. The steps etc are manageable but definitely stay clear of Puerto Rico if you don’t like hills. Stayed with friends in rooms D102/D103. Duplex style apartments with very steep steps to the bedroom and bathroom. Not as advertised or informed of this when booking. A real challenge for anyone with mobility issues. Also advertised as having a sea view…They do not! From the patio you have a lovely view of the rear wall of the villa in front of you! I’d say the rest of the apartments have a view so if booking I’d suggest you specifically request not to be in D102 or D103. We asked to be moved to an apartment with a view as booked but told no rooms available. Very disappointing as I’d specifically booked the hotel as EasyJet and hotel websites indicated all rooms have a sea view. Won’t be back.

I stayed here for 6 nights in August before being moved to their sister hotel Marina Suites due to an issue with my room. To begin with, everything about the hotel including the rooms, restaurant, reception, and all other communal areas were spotless and kept clean however one negative was that rooms were not cleaned every day, only 5 days a week (no cleaning on Thursdays and Sundays). Marina Bayview hosts a range of facilities meaning you have everything you need from sun beds & a lovely pool as well as a jacuzzi, gym, restaurant & bar, courtesy room, and an onsite shop (located in reception) allowing you to purchase beverages and snacks. The location is one of the many highlights of Marina Bayview, offering lovely views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Puerto Rico harbour. The hotel is also in close proximity to local restaurants and shops including a Hiper-Dino Express and restaurants but there is a little bit of a treck with the stairs you have to take up and down but after a while you do get used to it. For me it wasn’t a problem however if you have mobility issues or are elderly than do take note. With that said, taxis are available to cheaply get up and down for elderly people and for those with mobility problems and I’m sure that reception would have no problem calling one for you. Speaking of reception, Jorge & Nacho made me feel welcome, were very friendly and professional especially when dealing with the issue with our room promptly and quickly gave us options for a solution, the problem was quickly solved with ease. Considering the other staff at the hotel, they were also very friendly especially the ladies working at breakfast. At the restaurant, breakfast and lunch are offered every day, however there is no dinner available in the evening onsite at night apart from Fridays where they have their very own BBQ night. Throughout the day, there is a full bar available including sodas, wines, smoothies, and cocktails. All the food at breakfast, lunch, and on BBQ night was fresh, tasty and delicious with a large variety to choose from. The ratio of portion size to quality to price was very good. I do highly recommend both the BBQ night which has live music and breakfast which even offers complimentary cava to make your own mimosas! The breakfast set us up for the day with so much on offer including made to order omelettes, eggs, breakfast meats such as bacon and sausages, beans, a variety of pastries, cakes, breads, series and continental breakfast items (cold cheeses and meats). The chefs here are very talented and certainly know how to cook great tasting food! The bbq night and lunch offered during the day is very good value for money, and considering what you pay to stay in this hotel, you get quality accommodation with lovely views. The rooms were modern and stylish, with powerful air conditioning, a kitchenette, microwave and mini fridge, 2 TV’s, balcony with seats. Absolutely loved this place. Clean tidy aesthetically pleasing. The staff go over and above to help, super friendly. No request was too big for them. The food 10/10. Plenty of choice for breakfast all excellent quality, lunch equally as nice and reasonably priced. Pool area immaculate and always a sunbed. Terrible attitude by cleaners and frontline staff. Adult only hotel but no music, no entertainment and bar closes at 6pm. Refused late che kout despite the rooms either side of us being empty all week. The answer being that the cleaners refused as needed to clean. Then we got told it was the cleaners none working day but still refused. Awful customer service. Would never go back.
