Apartamentos Miriam

We booked this hotel for a week, we weren't expecting to much as it is a budget hotel. The hotel is clean and our room 306 was next to the lift and the pool, we had a view from the balcony straight over Puerto rico. The staff at the hotel are all lovely, and the pool bar and shop are very well priced. Happy hour is nearly all day and it's 2 cocktails for €7 Spanish measures. The hotel helped us out with our return airport pick up. Our transfer didn't turn up at the collection point, we tried to ring the number given but got a automated message in Spanish. So one of us stayed with the bags and the other returned to the hotel for help. The receptionist was amazing, she rang the company, they tried to say we wernt there but she told them she has seen us leave 1/2 a hour early for collection. Anyway they couldn't contact the driver but tracked the bus and it shown that the bus hadn't gone to the collection point. She then arranged a taxi for us and spoke to the driver explaining the circumstances and we would need a receipt for a claim. She was absolutely lovely and calmed us down I can't thank her or the hotel enough, if your looking for a budget hotel you can't do better than the miriam, great friendly staff.

Cannot recommend the Miriam apartments enough . Excellent , clean and spacious room with great balcony area- basic but good. Small pool and pool bar with great hosts Mr Wan and his wife . Room cleaned and towels changed regular and a great breakfast. Happy hour in bar twice a day and great location to commercial centre Would definitely return

Firstly the room is clean and plenty of hot water and the wifi is decent. But it is 10 minutes to the beach down 305 steps! Some of which slope away and not flat! The bar closes at 20:00 Two plastic chairs are split which caused my wife a nasty pinch which we said only to find them back “in use” later. The pool area is very limited space, lucky to get 10 sun beds around. Privacy in to the room is poor with very open patio areas in front all but some rooms. No net curtains on floor to ceiling window rooms. Most rooms have “remove before use” plastic boots over the smoke detectors and our lounge window has no glazing dots over the middle. Both of these features are a serious no go in the UK. The staff in reception, when it is open (closed Saturday after 17:00 to Monday) are very surly and basically rude. Two examples, “can we book a taxi?” She comes out and points to a number…no offer to “I’ll phone one” Another day the lift (the only lift) was not working (no signs) we ask “when will it be fixed?” The reply was they are on the roof, don’t know” We responded one of us is disabled how can we get to the fourth floor and got reply no offer of any assistance. The lift was out of action till the next morning and NO ONE WAS WORKING ON THE ROOF!!! I have been around the world and stayed in hundreds of places and this is an establishment to avoid at all costs whether just as apartment or “hotel” at rates as the lowest of the low.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY-300 STEPS DOWN TO BEACH S O NEED TO BE FIT???ROOM VERY WELL KEPT AND CLEANED WELL. HAS 3 HOURS OF HAPPY HOUR SO ALWAYS WELL INTOXICATED/. 2 BEERS $3 .2 Pina colada $7.a gem of a place to stay.PUERTO RICO THE NICEST PLACE ON THE ISLAND

I loved this place. Yes there is a hill bits it’s fine for access. Inexpensive, great staff, location, massive apartment which was super clean all the time and had everything you need. As a solo female traveller I always felt safe and its location is great for everything. Very near the bus station and I travelled round the whole island. I will be recommending and will be back. We had a great stay at the Miriam Apartments, would definitely stay again, lovely spacious clean apartment, good sized balcony with the most amazing views!! Lovely small pool area with bar and we had no problems with the staff, we were having a laugh and joke with them! Cheap very good cocktails and they have Happy Hour!! You are on a hill as is most of Puerto Rico, and walking back up is ok if you are well and able, plenty of cheap taxis if you don't want too! The walk down to the seafront or commercial centre is less than 10 minutes. You do have soon noise from the centre at night but don't let it put you off, didn't bother my husband and I just use earplugs!! All in all a brilliant stay in fabulous Puerto Rico!
