Visited with my husband and six-year-old daughter. Positive things: - Food in all inclusive was various enough and tasted good - Rooms with pool view were bright and the view was beautiful - The hotel is clean - Free bus to Puerto Rico and Amadores Beach Could be better: - Hotel was full of retired customers from Nordic countries and all program in hotel was headed for them (the evening program started at 9 o’clock and was very loud so no sleeping for kids before it finished) - No playing (water toys) in pools - No kids club

Just a few things and if you see my other reviews I don’t write bad reviews often! But if this helps someone not to choose this accommodation id feel happy. Firstly, we are a family of 3 adults and 1 14yo old. We booked on this basis assuming that we would have a”family suite” which would accommodate ALL of us! (Bear this in mind) arrived to find that we had a run down old apartment literally next door to the kids club and the splash park practically on our terrace area! Children we indeed literally coming into our room to get the balls back they were kicking about outside! Anyway upon entering our room we saw a sofa made up as a bed ok I suppose for one adult, then a double bed upstairs ok for the other 2 adults. However, the toddler “camp style bed”shoved by the door was NOT ok for our 14yo! Far too small! Off to reception we went! And what an experience this was! Very unhelpful and was talked over by repeatedly being told we are full! And we are allocated in the “British” part of the hotel!? When I tried to ask about where our teen was supposed to sleep they just kept saying we are full! (I actually recorded this conversation) was offered an “extra bed” so thought ok this was resolved: only to be given an extra toddler bed! Furious went back to reception again greeted with rudeness and not helpful. Our whole first day of our 4 days taken up! Eventually we were asked to “prove” the beds was too small! Took our son to our room to “prove this” was only then! We were offered a new full sized bed! Why couldn’t this have happened in the first instance! Bed arrived shoved by the door. Asked the receptionist to write down the managers name but he refused! After 4 attempts he shouted his name to me! Again all recorded! And manager not in till Monday anyway. This has been totally miss sold and the accommodation is NOT what we booked! It’s run down one of the chairs is completely broken the bathroom is so dated the floors dangerously unsafe! Only saving grace is we are only stuck here for 4 days! And we will definitely be going out every day so all inclusive total waste of money! Please do not reply to this saying the usual “we are taking this complaint serious” or “we are looking into this” we are HERE now in your hotel come see us took 303 to discuss. We obviously will also be going to on the beach to advise them of the misleading accommodation.

Wow!! We have just returned here after a week with our family (children 10, 5 and 1) and we had an amazing time! The rooms were very spacious and having the sun beds on the balcony was such a plus with nap times. The pools were lovely, although we were underwhelmed by the size of them when we arrived they were perfect once we had settled in. Sunbed wars are to expected in a tourist hotel so if you can’t beat them join them in my opinion. Food was great lots of variety it is a serve yourself drinks however I preferred this. The local beach is lovely and the town had some great shops. Jamie in the entertainment team works so hard and does a great job. My only tiny negative is the fact that there is no separate area for the entertainment so it’s very close to the pool so I wasn’t comfortable letting my 1 year old loose in the evenings in case he fell in but other than that is was absolutely amazing and we would thoroughly recommend!!

We booked last minute a 4 night all inclusive stay at the Altamadores hotel - we had an amazing time. Our room had stunning views over Amadores beach, the whole hotel was clean and tidy. The food was amazing, different every day. Not a single complaint. Enjoyed it that much we’ve booked to go again in September for even longer! There’s a little resident cat which I’m not a fan of cats but you can’t help but love it! There’s a little shop under the hotel with all you can ever need too! We arrived late the first day and they had packed a little goodie bag with sandwiches and fruit for us and even left water in the fridge! Can’t wait to return! Please don’t listen to the bad reviews, one of the most relaxing wonderful holidays we’ve ever had!

I stayed here with family and we had a lovely time. Staff are very friendly Food was great, we have fussy eaters, a vegetarian & allergies & always managed to eat well! Breakfast was our favourite meal of the day, the pancakes with Nutella were a hit. Additionally, having the option to eat with the stunning view was a bonus! Drinks were great and the self service works really well. Our room was lovely, so spacious and the outside balcony/area was amazing! Our only complaint would be a spot of mould in the bathroom due to no ventilation. Our room was cleaned regularly and plenty of towels supplied. We arrived at the hotel at 23:05 and were very disappointed to see there was no food available to us (we were very much hoping!) we then went to use the vending machine that ate our money and we were still left with no food. However I understand this is not the hotels fault, but just be prepared and bring snacks if you are arriving after 9:30 (when the restaurant closes for dinner). I read in reviews that finding sunbeds were not an issues however it began to get more busy as our time to leave was approaching and we found it increasingly more difficult to find available sun beds (unless reserving at 7 in the morning!!) We had mixed reviews about the location because it is on a very very long, steep hill and it was not easy to climb in the heat, however it was easy enough to order taxis from reception and get one to return to the hotel! For me the best thing about the location was the views, utterly beautiful!!! Amadores beach is so beautiful, the most gorgeous beach we have been too. Overall I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. It was our first time in Gran Canaria and we enjoyed every moment. It was so upsetting to leave!!! Thank you hotel Altamadores
