Well part of the disappointment with the hotel was the disappointment with the visit to San Carlos - Magdalena Bay. Guess I am guilty of imaging everything you see on you tube portrays the usual experience and whales did not surround our boat nor leap into the air or bring their babies nearby for a close up photo op. Back to the hotel. Barking dogs mush of the night. There was a leak in the bathroom either from the sink or toilet with resulted in a trail of water spreading over the bathroom floor via the grout line. Prefer to think the sink but? Large room, a suite? King bed. Restaurant on site for dinner and breakfast.

We used this property as our home base between an afternoon and morning of whale watching. We arrived for lunch and had a very plentiful meal for our group. The food was very good and the service was friendly. Our afternoon of whale watching was spectacular. Not to be missed! We had a bonus and saw dolphins on our way home. We had a very good dinner before turning in for the night. Our cabin had a fantastic view of the water with a nice porch with some weathered furniture. The interior of the cabin was clean and large with a very campy decor. The bathroom was very large. Breakfast in the dining room was very good with the same friendly vibe. The property is rustic and shared with RVs that are onsite.

I booked a room in May of 2022 for Nov 2022 from the Hotel's website and received a conformation email along with other emails. I also called and talked to the hotel to verify and discuss tours and validate my reservations. Then 6 days before my trip, I received an email saying my reservation was canceled. I called and was not happy with their response, they said I could change my dates or they could put you up at another hotel, come hear and we will walk you over. I didn't trust them at this point so I booked another hotel thru ***********.

We stayed in the cabana on the beach and it was a lovely little cabin. A bit of a thatched roof and just beautiful views! You can hear your neighbors (and your sweetie in the bathroom) but a small price to pay for a paradise front row seat to gorgeous views. The people who run Villas Mar y Arena are really lovely, wonderful people! We got there a little late for whales, so Javier (our hero!) found out where they were and took us there twice, even though it was 1.5 hours away. The food is incredible. We had clams, bought directly from the farmers on the way to see the sea lions, birds, and sand dunes. What a geography! And everything was a delight, including the sand sea anemones who live in the sand when the tide is out. And Javier (again, our hero!) took us on the boat and taught us (and the other tour drivers) how to see the whales close up. We didn't get to touch a whale (apparently, they were busy mating), but next time! We can't wait to come back! Vanessa and Erik

Abbiamo usufruito solo del ristorante mentre eravamo di passaggio a San Carlos. Abbiamo mangiato meravigliosamente. La gentilezza del personale non si può nemmeno descrivere: ospitali, disponibili, accoglienti. La location era stupenda nonostante il tempo nuvoloso. Un grazie a Fernando!!

Una verguenza de hotel... nos cobraron 2 veces.. llevo meses y meses reclamando el reembolso y no se hacen cargo. Que verguenza estafar asi a la gente.... Ademas de eso estaban en obras. Deberian avisar antes si estan haciendo obras..

Très belle chambre spacieuse et confortable. Pas forcément bien situé au bord de la route mais belle vue sur l'océan (et couché de soleil), nous y avons passé une très bonne nuit. Mais il faut venir ici pour une activité précise (pêche, plongées, ...) car rien autour et San Carlos pas très animé. Restaurant sympa, copieux et bon pour le soir. Idem pour le PDJ.
