My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of May 2025. We spent 3 nights in a room on the top floor in the building by reception. The room was spacious, we loved the entry way leading in to our room as it gave us extra storage. The bed was comfy, rooms were clean and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Hotel provided soap but be sure to bring your own shampoo and conditioner. The kitchen facilities was a nice option as we had some early morning tours so having an option to buy food and store it in the fridge was a huge bonus. Our other 2 nights we stayed in the room above the bar which offered the most amazing view and having our own fridge was a huge bonus. Bed was comfy in this room too! Love that the rooms offer lots of options to hang your clothes. The location of this hotel is fantastic, it’s close to so many great places to eat and an easy couple mins to the centre of town.

The place was ok, not very clean at all. Priced high ($150/night), and value just wasn’t there. Kitchen utensils, pots and pans were dirty. Old dish sponge left behind. Bathrooms were rusty, and old, with bad quality shampoos and soap. Rain water leaks in main bedroom. Stained bed sheets and old towels. Much better hotels in Isla Isabela to get your bang for your buck.

I enjoyed my stay at Hostal Galapagos on Isabela Island. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated in island-style with en-suite bathroom and even a desk (which was important, because I am working remotely). It is being cleaned every day. The staff is super friendly and very helpful with everything. They provide great information about sites to visit on the island, tours to book and called me a taxi to leave on time. I can highly recommend this accommodation on Isabela Island! :)

Lovely clean basic accommodation hostel. Cooking facilities. Clean, well managed. Host. Lovely. Very helpful for tours, taxi, everything. Quite central with 2 mins walk to the beach. Amazing. Several bars and restaurants to choose from. Only downside. But noisy with cars passing at night.

I absolutely loved my time here. It is a family run hostel and they are so incredibly nice and willing to help. They also offer tours at competitive prices and have a beachfront bar with hammocks and seating across the street that you get to use whenever you want. There’s a shared kitchen and the rooms and bathrooms are cleaned every day. I was in a 3-bed dorm. Highly recommended!

The owners were amazing and so friendly! They helped set us up with an amazing Tuneles snorkeling tour and gave us great recommendations for Isabela. They were always available and the hostel was extremely clean and nice! We forgot to get our deposit back one afternoon and the owner came to our room at 9pm to give it to us. They went above and beyond and I would recommend this place to anyone going to Isabela!

We loved our stay at Hostel Galapagos by bar de beto. Our family of five stayed in an upstairs apartment in the hostel where we were comfortable and enjoyed lovely ocean views. We had a kitchen in the apartment and were able to cook some of our own meals. The owner was helpful and available to answer any questions we had. We were able to borrow snorkeling gear, which was a big bonus. The room was cleaned daily, which was also lovely. The location was convenient and close to the beach and other businesses. We would definitely stay there again if we return to Isla Isabella.

It is paradise! Choose the room directly on the beach, beautiful! Sleep with waves sound… and Bar de Beto (the owner’s name is Alberto) is really cool too. It is a GREAT choice! No breakfast included but we have access to a kitchen. Near of everything. A really good choice!
