The room is extremely basic, no frills if you could tolerate the lack. However with the pricing, one would expect better. Dirty sheets, smelly toilet, bathroom ceiling leaked when it rains, and uninspiring breakfast (they are the same everyday) made the stay less bearable. The only plus point I would give would be its decent wifi, view, and friendly owner. Stay here only if you are not picky.

The beach, Coral Bay, is enchanting, the most beautiful on Kecil. There are many things to say about Senja: the spartan chalets in the jungle are fine, it is fine that mice, ants and cockroaches can enter. What is not acceptable are the fleas in the mattresses. After two days my partner and I had our legs and feet full of bites. After the protests, a “resort” employee came and removed the sheets and sprayed an insect repellent. I will not say what the mattresses were like under the sheets. For 65 euros a night, a high price for Malaysia, it is not acceptable.

Sufficient structure, good management, sufficient breakfast, lunch and dinner a little more, various problems for room 46. Rain from the ceiling, sufficient cleaning, check in from 3.00 pm. Overall acceptable quality/price ratio

Rooms very close to the beach and very practical Family rooms of 6 with 2 toilets and 2 showers Good quality restaurant and breakfast Very helpful reception staff Beach with many restaurants (but not too many, they are sufficiently spaced out) including barbecue every evening at Amelia's) Only one beach bar (next to Amelia), serves alcohol, you can bring your beer to the surrounding restaurants without problem Practical for a snorkeling trip to Rawa. Corals and magnificent multi-colored fish on the left of the beach looking at the sea. Beach much better than long beach (more modest and crowded hotels, white sand without corals) This is our favorite hotel in Perhentians

Before reviewing it must be said that in the Perhentians there is not a great variety of structures. Except for the three or four super luxury with prohibitive prices, there are a series of medium structures, the Senja is one of them. Room on a stilt with very spartan interiors no fridge or TV (if you are interested). For cleaning and change you have to ask for it. Breakfast the minimum for us Europeans. Water available in a dispenser. On the beach about ten sunbeds. When you arrive at the pier call for the suitcases otherwise you will have to throw them on the beach. A tip in the Perhentians max three nights

Great location and nice staff, but that's about it. For 60 euros per night we expect better. Poor air conditioning, dated huts, ants everywhere (removed every day but just kept coming). Shower had little water coming out, moldy shower curtain. Very basic for an expensive price. But you are on a beautiful island!😜

Overall acceptable rooms, considering the price paid the quality is adequate. We slept two nights in the beachfront bungalows. The problem is the staff, absolutely listless, sometimes irritating and offensive. For the luggage they did not offer to lend a hand at all (which was done in all the places where we stayed in Malaysia). The staff, sitting doing nothing, simply looked on, laughing. Avoid dinner, unfortunately one evening due to rain we had to try and they did everything they could. In the end after having reversed the orders with another table, and having waited over 1 hour they say that they have run out of the things ordered. Obviously at every reminder they laughed in my face and spoke to each other in Malay. Terrible experience, horrendous service. If you decide to go, arm yourself with patience. Then there are strange insects in the mattress... Which obviously bite... I suggest a sheet bag

Very friendly staff, great beach, nice hotel on the outside but which requires some refreshing work. Room a little dated but bathroom perfect. Average bedding, bed linen that deserves to be changed. Still good value for money

Of the three accommodations I stayed at on the Perhentian Islands, it was the most expensive and the worst. The floors need to be renovated because when the neighbors walk in their room, the bed moves. The rooms facing the beach near the reception are according to guests quite noisy in the evening and at night, people seeming to be attracted by the light while the beach is vast and sparsely inhabited on certain portions. The bathroom was renovated and quite stylish, but I only had lukewarm water 50% of my stay. The room was equipped with a hairdryer and a kettle. At the front, there is a balcony. Breakfast offers toast, margarine, jam, rice, pasta, roti canai, hard-boiled egg, cucumber, coffee, tea and watermelon juice. There is also a catering service which is more expensive than other places without being of better quality. It is possible to pay with the bank card but over time this adds to the bill with the commission to be paid to your bank.
