Disappointment and lack of respect define the experience we had at Hotel Azul by MH Punta del Este in January/2024. The room in which they "accommodated" us, number 3, looked like a prison cell. Nothing to do with the photos available on the booking sites that we consulted before the trip and that led us to choose this hotel. We are an LGBT couple, but the apartment only had 3 single beds. We tried to change to another room, but it was not possible to change, as everyone was occupied and the receptionist did not show any good will. To make matters worse, the room was completely dirty, with cobwebs and even a spider on the ceiling, which we only saw when we woke up in the morning. The impression is that before being transformed into a room, the space was a storage room, as it was located right in front of the reception. This is another bad point, as it was possible to hear everything that was said outside the apartment. A poorly executed renovation, as the ceiling left visible old holes that were poorly closed. In one of the corners, a large hole with exposed wiring. The bathroom, horrible! I don't know what was worse: the plastic shower curtain, the towel rack almost falling off, the tape used to protect it during painting that wasn't removed, the rusty mirror... Back to the room, the list of absurd discomforts included an iron chair, wooden bench and sheets and covers so hard and rough that you could exfoliate your skin. The breakfast, which could have saved our stay, was the icing on the absurd cake. The meal is served in the commercial bistro in front of the hotel. To access the restaurant, guests receive paper wristbands similar to those available for VIP show areas. And, amazingly, instead of a rich buffet, in addition to coffee and milk, each guest receives a small plate with just two slices of bread and two sweet, withered medialunas, and nothing else! On a small side table there is orange juice and scrambled eggs. And that's it! Ah, the completely dirty cups and cutlery. Pretty disgusting! In short: never stay at this place! --- The worst accommodation ever! Disappointment and lack of respect define the experience we had at Hotel Azul by MH Punta del Este in January/2024.
