The Solymar beach resort is not the most expensive resort in the Hurghada/Safaga area, but it’s also not the cheapest. Because of this, we were expecting it to be quite middle-of-the-range in terms of quality. At every turn, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted. The staff were friendly and courteous - whether at the reception, in the restaurant, or walking past someone watering the grass, you are guaranteed a friendly greeting. Everyone is quick to know their customers - after just a day in our usual spot on the beach, Ahmed knew our usual order. The hyper-energetic Magic Entertainment team members were also quick to build rapport and make us feel included in the resort vibes. We plunged immediately into extreme relaxation with a “honeymoon massage” at the spa, which included time in the dry and steam saunas, a special hammam exfoliation ritual on a heated marble slab, a full-body Dead Sea mud wrap, and an oil massage. The masseuses were talkative and playful - possibly not to everyone’s taste, but this seems to be the Egyptian way and certainly got me smiling and giggling along. There is not a moment of the day when you might be at risk of going hungry. From the early breakfast in the main restaurant, to the late breakfast at the beach, to the drinks and snacks on offer throughout the day at the pool bar and restaurant, there is always a wide array of quality F&B choices. There is some variation from day -to-day options, and it’s always worth checking out the “fresh-from-the-grill” area to see what the day’s speciality may be. Part of the stay includes one complementary meal at one of the two a la carte restaurants (Italian/Egyptian) where the food is a level or two up from what’s served in the buffets. Go hungry - the Egyptian meal included a starter of hot and cold mezze, a soup, a main course and a dessert (with alternative plant-based and kiddies’ menus). The resort has done a lot to ensure that it is eco friendly. Apart from the usual request to hang up towels to save water on unnecessary cleaning, they also purify their own water, which is left in your room in chilled glass bottles (it tastes a little weird, but it’s good for the planet). Overall, highly recommend the Solymar resort.

Poor hotel for a holiday. It was my 20th visit to Egypt over the last 6 years, so I have a comparison because I have stayed in 3, 4 and 5 star hotels. First of all, you can smell cigarette smoke everywhere - outside the hotel building, there are smokers everywhere and the beach itself is dirty with cigarettes. Deckchairs on the beach are ”reserved” in the evening, the day before. In the morning at 8 there are almost no free sunbeds, workers on the beach turn a blind eye to it for money. The cuisine is aimed only at meat eaters, vegetarians are screwed - seriously. The free internet in the lobby does not work. Finally, the creme de la creme is when guests log out after starting only on the 7th day, which was supposed to be fully usable. You lose your all-inclusive wristband, your room and only dinner on a voucher from the reception. When I talk to the receptionist that it is not in accordance with the contract, they lie and blame it on Tui. I spoke to a Tui employee and he confirmed the hotel's lie. Bathrooms are old and moldy. The hotel service was fine, the hotel itself was clean and cleaned regularly. I certainly don't recommend it.

I came there with 2 kids! Everything is amazing! Food is great, everything is clean! But the most important-this is stuff! Everyone is sooo sincerely kind! Starting with waitresses, housekeepers and entertainment team and finishing with chefs and managers! We will come back for sure! 🥰

We are staying here for 1 week as we are now on our 4th night and we got bored already. It’s great for relax and do nothing but having teenager sons with us, made a little bit difficult to manage our activities. There were some family who has a little extra fun, it’s funny in the beginning but start to be too much after hearing them screaming for the last 3 days. 4 of 5 for the hotel room. It’s not look like in the picture as it look much more older but it is ok 1 of 5 for Amarina spa I made mistake booking my first appointment to do hair colour. They said, it included cut, colour and treatment. Ending losing 5 hours because they made mistake with my hair and I did not get “treatment” as promised. This is why I do not trust or book another treatment with them again. They got my hair right at the end but 5 hours and did not get a treatment after I was promised was not ok. I showed one of them how it was day after but all she gave me was a very tiny oil package for my hair 5 of 5 to Ms Mariam who helped us and managed our stay. 4 of 5 at the Italian restaurant. Food taste good but they forgot my son’s dish. 3 of 5 at Ziena 2 of 5 for choices of breakfast 4 of 5 for lunch 5 of 5 for the friendly and good service to those bartender at beach bar/pool bar and 24/7 bar Water park is not working and there was no information about this when we book and not even when we checked in. We will definitely come back to Egypt but would be choosing another hotel in Hurghada instead as it is 2h round trip from this area which is a bit difficult for us who get bored of the same things / same food for so many days

every time I return to the same hotel! I love Egypt, and I always come back to Amwaj with love! I am always welcomed with love and respect by the entire staff! I would like to specially mention Domadius, the boy at the reception, who, every time, takes care to give me the same nice room that I always had! Thank you Domadius for your attention! congratulations to all the staff, cleanliness all the time, super good food, equally good service! I can't wait to come back!
