When deciding on Xijiang Hotel, I was considering this and another beautiful B&B. I called both hotels to inquire about the distance to check in. I chose Shanjie because Shanjie answered the phone clearly and in a comfortable tone. In the off-season, the Miao village was repairing roads. Normally, cars can drive to the foot of the B&B, but if the road is repaired, you can only walk by yourself. They did not hide the distance to be walked and told the situation truthfully. I thought it was within my acceptable range and I booked it without hesitation. In fact, I was not disappointed. The B&B is on the top of the mountain and the scenery is beautiful! I thought so many five-star reviews were fake. But from the time I checked out to the time I left Guiyang, no one asked for good reviews. I can feel that they are doing B&B with heart! The Miao brother who took my luggage picked me up from the Xiaobeimen parking lot and introduced me to what to play and eat along the way. When I arrived at the front desk, the little girl in a pink sweater at the front desk immediately brought water and told me to sit on the sofa and she would check me in. That night and the next day, I chose to eat in the Chinese restaurant of the B&B. It was a surprise! Especially the stewed chicken with Tianma and tomato and egg soup, both are light but very delicious, and very comfortable to drink! And you can see the chef cooking enthusiastically. It has been a long time since I went out to eat a restaurant that serves freshly made food instead of pre-prepared food! I am from Jiangsu, and I am not used to the food in Guizhou, but they really take good care of my stomach in Shanjie! This praise is sincere! The room looks out to the densely packed stilt houses, and there is a bag of good quality snacks in the room. I slept very well! I hope to keep this original intention and continue to operate.

From pre arrival to departure at the train station, the team follows up closely to ensure you’re well looked after - and if there is ever any question, anyone in the team is very swift to respond. The property sits midway of the village and is situated on higher ground, providing an expansive view overlooking other houses. In room, they clearly spare no effort providing very good quality fittings. The breakfast spread didn’t disappoint and is a very decent array of local and western options. The one highlight and very considerate gesture provided by the hotel was bringing in a private demonstration of Dong cultural singing. The close interaction with these cultural ambassadors was invaluable and very much enjoyable. Lastly thank you to the amazing team running the hotel like clock work including Mr Chen, 小石，小龙 and everyone else whom i interacted with but didn’t get a chance to know all your names! Italy is a stop I am looking forward to on this trip. When the car drove up the mountain, the sun had just set. The lights and smoke shining on the mountainside made the body's fatigue disappear in an instant. I was also looking forward to the hotel. The housekeeper, Xiao Dan, contacted me one day in advance. When we arrived, because we were not used to the winding roads and hills, Xiao Dan came out to pick us up. In the evening, they prepared hot tea for us, introduced the hotel and its environment to us, and were lucky enough to get a room upgrade. The hotel was not only beautifully designed with Dong characteristics, but also had advanced facilities and was very comfortable. The next day, the housekeeper, Sister Xiaoqin, introduced us to breakfast early in the morning, which was nutritious, delicious and healthy. The reason why I chose Guizhou is that its tourism policy supports it and reduces the ticket burden for me. I wanted to experience the happiness of the local villagers, and eventually my destination was Zhaoxing Dong Village, which is known for its singing and dancing and is the best Dong village in the world.
