Browns Boutique Hotel

The hotel is super conveniently located walking distance to the heart of town, but is also private and serene. The Juliet balconies in every room are charming. Breakfast is good and there are sofas and sitting areas inside and outside where you can read or watch the stars. If you miss out on one of the four parking spots, the pay lot is only a few steps away and it’s free overnight. Also, the hotel is right next to the gondola, which was convenient. We had a great time here.

Brown's Boutique Hotel is absolutely wonderful--just a gorgeous boutique hotel! Our room was spotless, the king-sized bed incredibly comfy and staff friendliness beyond compare. Though not a traditional hotel with a restaurant and bar, this hotel offers a home feeling with a gorgeous sitting room, french doors off your bedroom that open onto a balcony, and a great breakfast in the morning. Given that we were on our honeymoon, they went the extra mile and left champagne, flowers and handmade chocolates in our room when we arrived. We stayed with them for 3 nights and were set to fly to Rotorua to continue our trip when our flight was canceled. I called the hotel manager directly to see if we could stay an extra night. He was already home for the evening but came back to the hotel to let us in and make sure we were sorted for the evening. THAT is customer service! I fully recommend staying with Browns. The property (particularly the bathrooms) is somewhat dated but utterly charming. Great location / but on site parking limited and a bit tricky. Road side parking available. Very safe area. Service was excellent and friendly. Breakfast was lovely with good variety. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at Browns Boutique Hotel twice for a couple of days each, bookending our trek on the Milford Sound Track. Both stays were delightful. We were advised by friends beforehand not to miss the Continental breakfasts and that was indeed good advice. Angelo is an excellent chef and baker and his breakfasts were excellent. More generally, Angelo and Sky were wonderful hosts, assisting us with excursions and making our stays homey and comfortable. I highly recommend this boutique hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brown's Boutiqe Hotel in Queensland. From the moment we checked in till the moment we left the Managers, Skye and Angelo, made us feel at home. Facilities were very nice, location was excellent (close to the Gondola and close to downtown and the water), but the best part was the personal attention we received from Skye and Angelo. From homemade breakfast to discussions around the fireplace on the back patio, making reservations for an experience for us, to the Bread-making class Angelo gave us, this was a unique experience. With just 10 rooms this is much more like a cozy B&B than a Hotel. My only suggestions would be that our bathroom needs a little updating; and for those who prefer a cooler environment, I'd say Air Conditioning in the summer months would be valuable. We spoke to Skye and Angelo about both these items, and they are aware and would like to have these addressed in the near future. New Zealand is a long trip for us (coming from Oregon in the USA), but we can say with certainty if we return to New Zealand we will definitely book again at Brown's Boutique Hotel.

We stayed at Brown's Boutique Hotel on 3 separate occasions during our time in Queenstown and couldn't have been happier with Angelo, Sky, and their gorgeous and friendly cat, Tiramisu. They were gracious hosts that made you feel like family and often had a fire going on the terrace in the evening. Moreover, they had terrific recommendations (The Boat Shed, Arrowtown) and Angelo's baked goods at breakfast were a treat that we looked forward to every morning. Brown's is super convenient to everything in Queenstown and our hosts were incredibly accommodating, holding baggage for us during extended trips to Fiordland and Stewart Island.
