A great experience for a female solo traveler. I
Pros
I shared a female dorm with three other women and had a great time getting to know those coming in and out. The shared bathroom was always clean (cleaned every day).
The communal kitchen is large and well-organised. You can make use of condiments that get left behind. As it was still cold, there are always fires burning both in reception and the common room. It makes the atmosphere very cosy.
The best service I got was from their information desk, which is located in the reception area. As I didn't have a credit card and businesses like Snowbiz in town don't accept cash, I was able to pay for ski passes and rental by making a booking at the service desk (they have a card machine and also accept cash).
Cons
This side of the hostel where my room was located, just experiences a lot of noise, as there are bars down below, despite the sliding door being sound-proof. Not all the reading lamps for each bed work and also need to be fixed. The shower leaked a lot of water, as the glass door doesn't properly close.
Overall though, a great stay and value for money. You do save on accommodation, as QT is an expensive town to visit.

It's located in the center of town and the location is great.
It is convenient to go anywhere on foot, but there are many places where there are no parking lots nearby or there are time restrictions. If you can rent a car, we recommend parking a 10-minute walk away from the center. The room is clean, but the kitchen is so-so. It is at a level that is okay for a light snack. The only amenities provided are bath towels, so we recommend bringing your own.

Going out from the side door is the downtown area of Queenstown, which is very convenient. And the location is at the entrance to Queenstown, so you don't have to go through the urban traffic jam to go to the airport or Arrow town. There is nothing to say about the location.
The disadvantage is that there are kitchen and tableware but no pepper, salt and salad oil. I asked the counter and the reply was to go to the supermarket to buy it by myself. Also the oven in the room was malfunctioning and couldn't be used.
The service attitude is good. It was very hot on the day we arrived, but the hotels and apartments in Queenstown have no air-conditioning, only electric fans (super noisy), and there is only one, so I asked by phone to borrow another fan, and I was very polite. Look inside the counter (the counter is closed).
Considering the overall location and cp value is very good, but it would be better if the equipment can be strengthened.

It's close to Queenstown, clean and convenient on foot.
It's easy to get around, and you can drink hot water, coffee, and tea for free at the Benteen machine on each floor of the hotel. Diman's room had a window, but it couldn't be opened, which was a bit inconvenient.

A relatively affordable accommodation in Queenstown, about a 10-15 minute walk from the downtown area. The overall accommodation experience and service experience are very good~
We live on the first floor. When we checked in with our children, the front desk staff also gave us a graffiti set ❤️~ The overall space of the room is very large and not crowded. There is also air conditioning and a bathtub. The sound insulation equipment is also very good. The bed is super comfortable and I fell asleep in a second.
If there is a disadvantage, it is that there are not enough parking spaces. If you come back too late, there will be no parking spaces, and you have to look for parking spaces on the roadside. The other thing is that the entrance of the hotel is quite small, and it is easy to miss it when driving😂⋯⋯But these two minor problems do not affect his evaluation in my heart, it is still very good👍

Pros: the hotel room was really clean and spacious
Location was good, really near the main shops area
Cons: the hotel informed there was no parking available as their carpark was full and it was first come first serve. So guests are expected to circle the hotel vicinity for a lot when they arrive? Especially when it’s stated that parking is available onsite.
Front desk staff was really rude with an attitude. She suggested street parking but I told her I wasn’t comfortable with parallel parking and she just got really rude with a take it or leave it attitude. We booked two rooms but she only gave one room’s card and I had to remind her for the other room’s card.
Anyways. The hotel is a maze where we had to take lift to a different level, walk to a different building and take another lift to get to the room. Abit creepy for solo travellers.
Overall; the rooms are well maintained but beware of the lack of parking + rude staff

The location is great. It has a nice view of the downtown and surrounding mountains. Ample parking space, which is a big bonus considering it's really hard to find free parking in Queenstown! The staff were nice and friendly. The room is good, has a little smell, probably the carpet needs a deep cleaning. Some facilities are outdated but still in working order. Overall, we had a good stay. 😊

I recently stayed at this hotel for a short trip and was looking for a room with a lake view, easy access to the airport, and proximity to town. It met my basic expectations.
Pros:
- Clean and well-maintained room.
- Room size is comfortable for two adults.
- 24-hour reception is very convenient.
- Bus stops (Bus 1) are right in front of the hotel.
- The balcony with chairs and a table offers a serene view of the river.
- Buffet breakfast starts early at 6:30 AM, which is great for me as my coach to Lake Tekapo was at 8am.
- Room comes with all necessities, plus a microwave, which was a huge bonus for me.
Cons:
- Booked a lake-view room, but the view was partially blocked by bushes/trees as the room was on Level 2.
Located next to a busy main road, and passerby visibility made it feel less private.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to family and friends for its convenience and comfort.

Outstanding
GGuest UserIt is clean, quiet and a very nice hostel! Except the room next door was a little loud on my second night of stay. The toilet and bathroom was clean too. Everything is good except hairdryer needs to be change. Would come back! And location is walking distance to the town.
GGuest UserLovely lake view from the room and hotel terrace. Queenstown stay become even pleasant with this location. Friendly staffs, bar menu drinks and breakfast was awesome. Its 10/10 place to be , adding sugar on top for Queenstown city
GGuest UserPounamu apartments super suites are the upstairs units with a small balcony. The view over the lake and the mountains was really nice, especially after a snowfall overnight. Inside the unit, the kitchen was very functional with oven, cooktop and microwave. Air conditioning and fake fireplace kept the unit to a reasonable heat at the start of winter but this may be an issue in the middle of winter. The shower had great water pressure and great hot water. It too about 15 minutes to walk into the city centre but the walk back along the lake requires a walk up a hill which was a little taxing so the main road is a better way back. Short drive to New World and Woolworths in Frankton.
GGuest UserThe room is as clean and user-friendly as always. Holiday Inn abroad is really the first choice for cost-effectiveness. There is a parking space. It is very good to stay for one night. It is also convenient to buy burgers and so on in the city. The view is not much. It is mainly for staying. If you want a view, you still have to go to the Lake View Hotel. Hahahaha, recommended
GGuest UserWalked out onto the balcony and we were met with these stunning views.
The time that we visited (May) meant that it was slightly too cold to be out on the balcony for too long, but the views that we enjoyed out of the window were magnificent.
When the first arrived the lady on the front desk was very friendly, and helpful.
We had asked for a double bed and had been allocated two single beds. She quickly contacted the ladies from house keeping and they very kindly sprung into action to help rectify the situation.
The housekeeping staff were nice and pleasant, and the location was just right for us to get out and about visiting some of the local attractions like the Kiwi birdlife park.
The big plus about staying at the highview apartments was having a parking space. When you visit queenstown you'll soon find out that in some places finding a parking space is like gold dust.
EEVGENIISituated in the breathtaking Te Anau region, the hotel provided a stunning backdrop for an unforgettable stay. The rooms were spacious and elegantly furnished, offering magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. The attentive staff catered to every need, ensuring a memorable experience, made it an excellent choice for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.
AAndrewansonThere is guest laundry, come two washing machines of the buttons no two dryers only one with buttons, gym is very crude, four-star hotels far do not give tissue boxes, the price is cheap enough, the cheapest hotel in Queenstown, can only say However, the hotel's geographical environment is very good at the beautiful scenery of the lake, if you want the room to face the lake view is very expensive
GGuest UserThe décor of the rooms were excellent and the small touches - such as the music that plays when you walk into the room, and the small bar area, the art work, and the welcome book - were really special. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were quite, and the size of the room was prefect for two people. There is a sauna available to use by in-house guests, which is excellent after a long hike. Overall, the quality of the room was value for money.
There is also a restaurant, but sadly it was not open the day that we stayed (Monday). We were quite upset about that as we had read very good reviews about the chef and food quality! Whilst the staff were nice at check in, they did not give much information about the premises (i.e. they didn't give us a tour or anything), and we had to ask a lot of questions.
The location is outside of town, but a short drive if you have a car, or a short bus ride (the bus stop is right outside the hotel).
Overall, I would highly recommend to stay here!
GGuest UserEnjoyed our stay. Very comfortable beds, good sized room and nice and quiet even though we overlooked the road. We have stayed here a couple of times before and notice that it is starting to show its age but that said its clean and is being fairly well maintained . The lodge style that it used to have has been eroded with a big TV over the fireplace and loud music playing in the bar, so its not a place to sit and relax, which is a shame. The room was a little on the cold side as there is a vent near the door that blows out icy cold air so you have to have the heat pump on which then dries you out but there was an extra blanket so its pretty cosy once you are in bed. When I asked for an extra pillow a selection of 4 different kinds got delivered which was great and the service was excellent. Parking was free, which is a bonus as most places charge. Despite the very minor negatives we would stay here again.
CCraigDecent hostel in good location within 5min walk to the town centre.
The showers are dated and no shower gel or shampoo. Which is normal standards in most hostels around the world.
They did provide towels which were a added bonus.
Would I stay again. Probably.
