This is a fantastic place to stay. Amazing, friendly staff who do their utmost to ensure that you enjoy your time spent there. We actually arrived at almost closing time and had such a warm welcome from Jacob and the rest of the staff. We were shown to our room which was lovely and had a nice comfy bed and all the other facilities. In the morning, we were welcomed at breakfast by Andy the manager, who was also a lovely, friendly guy. He took our breakfast order. The breakfast was amazing and the service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would certainly return. I can honestly say that this is the friendliest place we have ever stayed. Well done to the staff at the Cricketers Arms, you are a credit to them.

Stayed as a stopover for Stansted which worked perfectly we had a fantastic stay here comfortable room and fantastic food for evening meal and breakfast and received fantastic customer service from Andy and the team and will definitely return

Overall a very disappointing stay and we feel very mislead by the website photos and reviews. The room was small, located on the ground floor in what was clearly once the men's toilets. The carpets, floor tiles (original from the men's toilet) and shower tray were all filthy. Shoes were needed to use the bathroom. Black mould was everywhere and the bathroom window opened onto the car park access road and had no blind so zero privacy. Shower tiles still had mould-remover residue on them so we had to clean it before we could use it. Door didn't open fully due to broken shower basket. Paintwork was stained and chipped. Whole place looked tired and dirty. Only saving grace was that the bed linen was clean. We would have walked out but arrived after a late flight and they had already taken payment. I am sure they have some nice rooms - just not the one they gave us which was the worst place we've stayed in years. One to avoid and a rip off at £100.

Fabulous service and meal today for a large family booking, Dominika was exceptional and looked after everything on the day, thank you also to Ed for our planning of the day and pre order numerous changes- the food was perfect, we will definitely return soon. Thank you so much.

We had a one-night stay as a family of 4 (2 children and 2 adults) in the Wander’s Suite. We were also able to bring our small dog with us and he was treated like royalty throughout! We were warmly greeted upon arrival and shown to our room, a large spacious and airy room at the side of the hotel which was spotless – we could not fault it. We had a peaceful night’s sleep on the comfiest super king bed ever! The pub has the most beautiful setting right on the village green – we were able to sit out with a drink in the sun watching the kids kick a rugby ball about on the green. We were also lucky enough to experience a live singer in the garden which went down a storm. Breakfast was amazing – especially the avocado and salmon dish. We hope to return very soon. Thank you all.

Ou la la !! We spent two nights at Cricketers Arms and we really enjoyed it ! Food was amazing, room was clean and confortable. What we really loved about this place was the cosy small town atmosphere, the sympathy of the whole team and the incredible friendliness of the manager Andy. Go for it, we’ll enjoy. Johanna and Kevin

Great find, as I was delayed at Stansted I searched locally & found this gem, a warm welcome from Andy, super suite room, nice & warm on a very cold minus degree day, snow everywhere & a beautiful location. I couldn’t have asked for more! Best seasons greetings from Marcus in Madeira.

We stayed here last night prior to a flight from Stansted, and so glad we did. A lovely village pub with a few rooms, we sat outside and had a couple of drinks watching the cricket on the green, before we had some food. God value, lovely food and room Exactly what we needed. Plus the manager kindly made us up some Sandwiches and left them outside the room as we had an early start the next day.
