Red Lion Hotel

Stayed on a family recommendation rather than a larger chain closer to London Great location, train station just across the road. Nice village, up market area. Warm and comfortable pub with friendly staff Great room and very large comfortable bed. Secondary double glazing over traditional windows ensured no traffic noise. Air conditioning kept room at a comfortable temperature as it was very cold outside. Good shower. Only gripe was limited TV channels, no BBC or news channels. Good breakfast choice, not a buffet, your selection cooked to order to a high standard. All in all a very nice experience which we will repeat when next in the area.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel, great service and beautiful breakfast. Upon opening the door to our room they provided a complimentary bottle of fizz for wife's birthday! We stayed in room 1 with free standing bath plus walk in shower. A great base for a stay just outside London with the Train station just over the road We are already looking at when our next booking here will be as next time will take in a trip to Harry Potter World which is close by and also Wembley

As usual, my stay was great, without exception the staff were brilliant and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble The rooms were ( as usual) spotless and comfortable Travelling alone they make you feel so welcome, was not my first visit but whenever I come to the uk I would always book there

This place has transformed for the better since being taken over by new manager Paul, recently refurbished inside and out, the patio is very clean with well kept flowers and plants,i was looked after by Beatrice recently,very friendly,coudnt do enough to make me feel welcome,food superb,room very good,great improvement,love the place,cheers,x

I was only able to stay for one night before I left for Heathrow the next morning but that experience makes me want to return here for a full visit. As a solo traveler, I was hoping for the best for my last night in England but it was far more than that. All the little British touches mixed with modern conveniences made me feel so delighted to be there. The gentleman who checked me in was so accommodating and helpful I felt as though I was in the hands of my family, looking out for my well being. Remember, I was a solo traveler who is also a senior. The Pub and restaurant are gorgeous. All wood with fireplaces and friendly servers. I ate there with family for my last night and chose fish & chips of course. Yummy! They fully enjoyed their selections as well. It is open to the public if you just want to have a drink and a bite to eat in a lovely space. The Red Lion's outdoor patio is gorgeous and although it was raining and we didn't sit outside, I look forward to returning to relax and enjoy myself with family out there. If you want to try the best in British hospitality in a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere give it a try!

The staff and service, the great room, the quirkiness and the food ! Really great location, free parking and just a lovely vibe . Bed was amazing , bedding superb . Bedroom facilities amazing , we didn't use minibar but the choice of drinks and snacks was superb . The steak bavette was superb and the scotch egg was to die for . Breakfast was also really good. Excellent stay . Can't believe how long the hours the staff work for as it's a busy pub plus hotel . Respect !
