Overall, the hotel was excellent. The location is great, the staff are amazing, and I loved the room — it was warm and cozy even in chilly July, when it was around zero degrees outside. The room also had a balcony with a magnificent view of the city and mountains. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with options like avocado toast, English breakfast, muesli, and more.

Had Easter Sunday lunch at the restaurant. Thought it was very average. Vegetables poor quality, spare ribs were the cheapest cut and only just warm, never got a finger bowl. Extra item added on to the bill which they could not reverse so just paid less to cover it. Will not have lunch there again but apparently the breakfast is quite good.

This review is not about the hotel but about the experience in the restaurant. The hotel is situated a few meters from our estate so we always go there for breakfast, its home to us but today we had a very unpleasant experience with our waitress Rachel. We had to wait to order because having chats with her colleagues seemed more important. I don't know if she lacks training or she just did not want us there. She brought us a wrong order and did not bother to apologize. We had to stand to pay and she did not thank us because we tipped less than 10% because of the bad service. Its our first time to have such a bad experience at this place. We will be back at the restaurant because of their good food and lovely ambience, but it won't be anytime soon. The front of house hotel staff is always friendly and helpful.

Very friendly staff, very polite! Specially mention to Zachariah who was very engaging with recommendations of various locations to visit. Also one team member who although was just finishing his night shift, patiently kept the lift doors open while I finished my conversation with his colleague a reception. Great customer service!

We were in Joburg to visit family before a flight out to USA. The room was excellent - esp the view across to Little Falls and the city. Best of all they were very accommodating of our need for an extended checkout at a reasonable fee so that we could head tot he airport rested.
