Borgo Laticastelli

From the moment we arrived, this hotel felt like a home away from home. Nestled in a stunning medieval village, the property is a paradise that beautifully blends old-world charm with modern luxury. One of the highlights is the infinity pool overlooking the breathtaking Tuscan hills. It's an incredible feeling to swim with such a picturesque backdrop. At night, the entire village lights up, creating a magical atmosphere. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with exquisite attention to detail. Beautiful flowers are everywhere, and the landscape is full of trees, adding to the serene and natural environment. Dining at the on-site restaurant is a delight, offering exquisite food that tantalizes the taste buds. Each morning, guests are treated to a complimentary breakfast featuring a delicious array of croissants, baked goods, cappuccinos, meats, fruits, and grains. The staff at the reception are wonderful—very kind, helpful, and accommodating. They make you feel like part of the family, enhancing the overall experience. A very special thank you to Martina and Nicoleta; you made us feel so accommodated. With excellent WiFi and all the comforts one could desire, this hotel truly is a gem. We will definitely return to this haven in the Tuscan hills.

The Laticastelli is a gem!!! It is one of the best hotel values we’ve ever experienced. Situated on a Tuscan hilltop, it offers a step back in time, but with modern amenities, and sweeping views of the Tuscan countryside. Our room was large and well-appointed with nice linens and antique furniture. The bathroom was updated and modern. The restaurant was such a wonderful surprise in ambiance and the variety and quality of the dishes offered. Breakfast was bountiful. The infinity pool with 270 degree views of Tuscan countryside is magical! The staff were all pleasant, friendly and helpful. If are traveling by car and Tuscany is on your itinerary The Laticastelli is a great base camp for visiting various Tuscan highlights (Sienna, multiple hilltop towns, vineyards…) or a great place for a couple of days of R&R in the middle of a more ambitious tour of Italy. (And there is an equally surprising Michelin-starred restaurant, La Bottega del 30, in a tiny village 20+ minutes away.) We are already planning our next visit to Laticastelli with friends.

Delightful country hotel - huge character and very friendly staff. Restaurant excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Particularly enjoyed chilling at the pool with a cold beer whilst taking in the incredible views across the valley. Will definitely return !

My fiancé and I stayed here for 5 nights and absolutely fell in love with this beautiful borgo! The setting is so peaceful and feels so authentically Italian. The team there were so friendly and were very forgiving of us speaking (extremely) limited Italian. We tried our best to muddle our way though basic phrases and they were always so happy to help us. Next time I stay I am determined to have learned more so their efforts aren’t wasted! We went for the half-board option which included breakfast and dinner, and we ate at the restaurant for lunch a couple of times as well. The food was always outstanding and tasted so fresh! I tried my best to work through the entire menu, having something different every night, but caved a couple of times and ordered the same dish because they were so tasty! The salted cod was dreamy! The pool area is stunning! Lots of sun beds available and the pool is just the right temperature to cool off from the Mediterranean sun. The view from the pool area is breathtaking and there is a nice touch of having a self-service drinks fridge by the pool so that you can get refreshment without somebody always having to be there (always be honest and sign the paper!) Our room was lovely and comfortable, and was checked daily by the housekeeping team. When we first checked in (we were a bit early) our room had just been cleaned and when we walked in it smelled amazing and had clearly just been fully mopped. It immediately put me at ease as cleanliness of the room is so important to me. On our last day we did an Italian cooking class which I would highly recommend! We learned how to make ravioli and tagliatelle from scratch and then got to eat the dishes we cooked which were lovely! Chef was very friendly and informative! I would say a hire car is essential if you want to explore the area as it is very rural. Also, as it is in the countryside, there are mosquitoes so I would suggest bringing some repellent and hydrocortisone just in case! Some reviews have mentioned noise from the nearby road and, although there is a main road nearby and you can hear some of the traffic noise, I wouldn’t let that put you off as it was very minor and didn’t impact the enjoyment of our stay at all. Overall, we totally fell in love with this venue and I have already enquired about visiting again next year with a larger group and renting one of the villas. I cannot wait to stay again and enjoy more of the fantastic Italian hospitality (and food!)

We stayed at Laticastelli for a weekend wedding! Staff was amazing and the property had so much to offer from a pool with bar and restaurant on site. The views were amazing! Great property for wedding or countryside getaway! Highly recommend!!

Wow, such an mazing place and wonderful staff. Let me say that we booked this place just at the day of arrival, about 10 hours before the arrive. We are a family of four: two adults and two kids (13 & 17). I had asked for twe rooms next to each other and one room with two separate beds for the kids. Nothing was promissed as it was last minute. But the staff made a lot of effort to provide our request. We did get two rooms next to each other and with separate beds. The whole Laticastelli property is a small village of little houses where you can find the rooms. The chek-in was very quick. The staff is very friendly. Although it is April the weather is very good and sunny so we could use the pool outside. Also the children were allowed in the pool. There are also towells for the pool available int the room. The breakfast was very good. We had ours at the terrace outside with the nice view. We will definitly come back again. Everything was just amazing. The rooms, the food, the beds, the hospitality, the views, the pool,... Little hidden gem in Tuscany. So worth to stay here.
