We stayed two nights at Athgira River Camp. The glamping tents are really nice - big size with comfortable beds (and extra protection of mosquito nets), and the private but outdoor (to the sky) bathroom is very cool 😎. There are two nice outdoor pools to use. The hotel also has a safari service and this is a magical experience. Our safari driver was a great guide, very knowledgeable. The hotel manager Saman is excellent, running a busy operation with individual attention to every guest. Highly recommend!!

We had a brilliant time. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The accommodation was amazing and on a beautiful setting next to the river. Plus, the Safari was definitely a highlight of our hole trip. Thank you.

We have sejourned one night at river camp Atghira. it’s a good expérience. the rooms is clean, the employees are friendly, foods is good particurlarly the specialitie as kottu.We didn’t have the time to test the pool. Having done differents hotel in Sri Lanka, we recommanded this.

Had a 2 night stay in the middle of our Sri Lankan holiday. The setting is lovely and it’s an experience to stay in the camp.. We had one of the stand alone tents by the river, watched over by the monkeys! There’s two pools, but only a few loungers I guess as most people are out quite a lot during the day. The Elephant Transit Home is nearby and the hotel organised a tuk tuk for us to go there and the trip was amazing. We also had a jeep safari to Udawalwale National Park. Though the park was way busier with jeeps than what we were expecting. The only thing we thought that let the camp down was the food, even if you got to the buffet dinner as soon as it opened the food was never really warm.

Real camp feel with excellent services including 2 x pools, snug bar, modern open sided multi floor restaurant. Clean with en-suite, fan & mosquito nets it was a real authentic experience helped by attentive & professional staff. Right beside large river we saw monkeys, small snakes and fruit bats.

Fabulous experience!! The staff could not have been any more attentive, and a beautiful peaceful location, fantastic evening candlelit meal at the side of the river was definitely a highlight ! Only disappointment was the wifi, at times we couldn’t connect at all.

A really unique spot to stay after the elephant safari. Cute glamping tents but with a fully functioning bathroom. Overlooks the river and you can eat the buffet breakfast and dinner right by the river in season. The pools there are lovely, and the staff are very attentive. The margarita cocktail was also tasty!

We stayed in the delux tents facing the main river. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed every day. Rooms- large spacious tent with everything you need. Very clean and freshly changed (daily if you wish). Tea and coffee making facilities and plenty of plugs for charging electronics etc, Bathroom- again spacious Has 2 sinks and hot and cold water for showers Supply of soaps and creams Food - variety of food - all good my husband likes spicy food whilst I do not and we were both catered for. Staff- A+ superb team vey friendly and keen to make our stay good. Went above and beyond- the manager is attentive and seen regularly throughout the day - but not overbearing Activities- we went on 2 safari’s both arranged by the hotel. The first one a morning one - an early cuppa and then a fabulous mornings sights followed by a late breakfast at the hotel. The second was a longer one - we were served breakfast by the fabulous hotel team kitti looking over the reserve and reservoir, and then back for lunch We also went to the transit elephant orphanage and a herbal medicine tour where we had a massage We even planted some lemon trees
