Pitchwood Inn

We liked this inn. It's a mom-and-pop type of inn, so each unit is slightly different from the others, no cookie-cutter rooms. The rooms were adequately equipped, but a bit too dark for our taste. The bathroom was particularly dark, making it really hard for me to put on makeup. The internet connection wasn't particularly fast. Our room heater didn't work, but the staff was quick to find a replacement that worked just fine. We liked the "feel" of our room, with dark stained boards on some walls, dark-ish paint on the other walls, and plenty of space. The inn was quiet and set back a bit from the street. The room had a warm and cozy feel about it. We were also happy to find a family-style restaurant just a block down the street that served breakfast. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to Raymond.

The Inn has a fun and unique decor. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Service at the Alehouse was great. Spencer our bartender/waiter was very friendly and helpful. Met one of the owners as we were leaving - she was so friendly. It was great to see an owner helping clean rooms and chatting with guests.

Stayed in #5. Bathroom was extremely small. Door had a mail slot in the door that opened from the outside exposing a view of the bed. Wicker shade on door was see-through. Rooms were not soundproofed at all when it was remodeled so you hear literally everything. Comforter was dirty and stained. Tried to contact Pitchwood with no response. Extremely disappointed.

If you're travelling with family or just like your rooms clean, or need circulation in the room, or a bathroom sink that drains well, or have a carpet that isn't the dirtiest thing you've seen, or have clean surfaces on the door or cabinets, do yourself a favor- don't stay here! Enough said?
