Kvosin Downtown Hotel

We really enjoyed our “bigger” room as a family of 4. Very spacious, modern and has nice lighting. The kitchen island was brilliant as we were able to let the kids make their dinner while we went out to a lovely restaurant nearby. The location is perfect for the charming old downtown area. It’s only 5 minutes to the downtown airport if you are flying out domestic. They have some parking right in front, which isn’t the case for other high end hotels downtown. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would absolutely stay again!
Bus Hostel Reykjavik - Reykjavik Terminal

Reykjavik East
This hostel has a practical and functional location only. The only reason to stay here is for it’s convenient pickup and drop off stop for tours and the airport. The room was a 4 bed dorm and was stark. Located opposite the kitchen and above the main entrance meant it was quite noisy too. The bunks are very, very basic. There aren’t charging points at each bed in this particular dorm (3) and the blanket provided is a decorative throw. The cleaning left a lot to be desired. Regularly had to ask reception for hand soap in the toilet, paper towels and toilet paper. The Wi-Fi is non-existent and the reception staff are totally ambivalent; they are pleasant but absolutely no desire to help. Plausible deniability comes to mind. You only stay here for the location that allows you access to all that Iceland has to offer.

Everything was perfect, thank you!
Hotel Cabin

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Cabin very much, largely due to the eager-to-please staff, especially Lenny at the front desk. Rooms are small but quite adequate; I didn't expect to be spending a lot of time in the room except to sleep. (The bed was excellent.) The lobby area is a great [place to congregate and/or meet new people. After a long day of touring the many wonders of Iceland, I was very pleased to come back to the Cabin to relax. My only problem was with the continental breakfast, which was OK but lacked variety. I would definitely stay again, largely due to the terrific staff (Lenny, Bianka, Katya).

This was our first stop in Iceland and was our base in Reykjavik for 2 nights and it was a good choice. This was our first meeting with the very friendly people of Iceland, the staff were patient and helpful with us. They stored our luggage and we lit out to explore the beautiful city with its many sights, restaurants, bars, plentiful shopping and everything was within easy walking distance. The accommodations were quite nice, quiet room overlooking the courtyard and a very comfortable bed. The price was very reasonable and it included breakfast buffet which was a huge surprise, I guess I was thinking of U.S.A. Fairfield Inn minimal hot breakfast. Skruggi put out a spread - meats and cheeses, bacon and real eggs, so many breads with local spreads, coffee, cold water and fresh juices, delicious fresh fruit and Skyr, oatmeal with nice toppings, etc and of course there was the castor oil with shot glasses.
Hotel Holt - The Art Hotel

I think Hotel Holt is a nice boutique hotel with all you need. It’s small but all details and needs are being catered. Hotel management is running it with heart which you can see in many aspects. I think this hotel. We didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment on it but overall experience is good. The price is a bit pricey but it’s okay as we are in city centre. Well located and just a few minutes walk to the Main Street. And the best overall, they have car park and it’s free….
