This is never a 5* even by Greek standards, arrived after midnight not even offered a coffee, our room was lovely great beds handy for everything our cleaner was brilliant only problem was the shower took forever to drain I could dry my hair make a drink and my husband still couldn’t use it. The safe we did get refunded for as advertised free and still that in 2025 Staff were a mixture lady at pool bar was great we were full board lunch at the pool bar but not a great choice as half not available so 2 weeks was blah fb did get a drink at lunch and dinner and a nice touch free fruit brought round at 12 every lunch time Pool loungers and tables needed a good clean and one other guest daily picked up tissues and rubbish no music no atmosphere no vibe This in my opinion was not for the British Germans etc treated much better Beach the sun beds needed to be priced better should have a price for mornings only, even with beach shoes it’s hard to get in and out The shop on site was ok but the staff rudest I have ever come across If you have a late flight and unable to get a room ,forget it the room next to the pool toilets stunk, water everywhere no place to hand your coat or clothes no towels no hairdryer Food was ok Getting to the village unless fit healthy forget it no taxis you are stuck We went to a lesser grade hotel in Crete in June which was fabulous on every level compared to this, we booked a trip to Symi which was lovely and Rhodes town was lovely

Everything was awesome, especially the duo at Mouro bar, Vasilis making a great freddo espresso coffee and Celine making excellent smoothies and freshly pressed juice and Panagiotis quick service including down at the beach, music choices were amazing too and the vibes immaculate, would recommend 100%.

First time we have been to Rhodes and this hotel did not disappoint. Everything about it is well run and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bright with everything you need - bottled water supplied daily and a bottle of local wine in the room on arrival. Toiletries supplied and a clothes drier on the balcony. The only thing I would say here is that although they supply a kettle and mugs you need to bring your own tea/coffee, though there is a fridge to store anything you get at the little mini market on site - Raphaella was very helpful here and found the right charger for my husbands kindle and even charged it up for him to save him going back to the room. The main restaurant is spacious with lots of outside seating - the food is all buffet but do not let that put you off as it was a very high standard. Plenty of choice with a fish dish, chicken, meat and vegetarian options - delicious salads and a great selection of cheese too. The menu is different every night so no chance to get bored. The staff are very helpful - particularly Vasilly (or Bill!) and you can order drinks from the waiters - though if you are full board wine is included which was a nice surprise. Breakfast is also a buffet but again with great choices and freshly cooked omelettes to order. We had opted for full board and lunch was at the snack bar where Paraskevi looked after us really well - again a drink is included and it works out exceptionally good value. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sun loungers - no towels reserving them first thing either! We did not use the pool as we prefer the sea - you do have to pay for the loungers and umbrellas on the beach but its good value and Celine who collects the money will also fetch drinks or ice cream for you too - again she was a lovely bubbly person who was extremely helpful - you can pay for the beds by card so no need to take lots of cash. The beach is sandy and pebbly and whilst lovely and calm it is a little steep getting in and out. Those of us a little older caused amusement amongst ourselves with our attempts! Sea is beautifully clear and the beach was very peaceful and quiet (apart from the Sunday when there were a few more families) All in all it was a really lovely stay - the whole place is clean and tidy and the staff all wonderful. Highly recommend it.

This is the worse hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel is nice HOWEVER the staff and management are not friendly and are extremely unprofessional. The restraint staff are rude and the manager presents as argumentative and angry. I felt very uncomfortable at the hotel because of the staff which spoilt the holiday. The food was the same everyday The Hotel is isolated in the middle of nowhere. The beach is not sandy! It’s pebbled The air conditioning did not work (I think they turn it off) The WIFI is very poor! Overall the experience was traumatic and I was so happy to leave this hotel.

In all general terms the hotel is good. We had to check-out before a time due to what now happens in Israel. At this point the young man at reception asked whether I'm coming back to 'Palestine'. I'm still wondering what it was: a Freudian slip revealing a desire that Israel will no exist? Or simple stupidity?

Family suites in this hotel are spacious and quite functional. The balcony is a bit small and the view (we had so called partly ocean view) is not much to long for, just a deserted, narrow asfalt street and a glimpse of ocean far away. Excellent drying rack thought, much appreciated for! Many things were broken in our bathroom: toilet seat (got it fixed quickly though), carbage can (did not open with the pedal, had to touch it, YACK), shower rack was detached from the wall etc. Got a bit bored to grouch about every single thing. Couldnt they just check that everything is in order in all the bathrooms when they clean them anyway? The lady in the lobby was not especially receptive to complaints either. As a customer I rather felt like it was just me being too picky and waisting her precious time. Afandou Beach is right next to this hotel, very easy to go to the beach and still visit the hotel showers and pool in between. Problem is that there is nothing on the beach, no activity what so ever. Just few (maybe 20) sun beds, hardly any service with them either. Do not know whether it was the time or what but this place was totally dead from the turism point of view. We had a rented car, so it did not bother us a bit, but without a car this would have been a bit dull place. There were maybe one or two restaurants but could not really figure out whether they were closed or not. Hotel has two pools, relatively small but ok. The hotel minimarket is very, very small and only takes cash money, no cards. The hotel had a very good buffet, tasteful food, so we were satisfied with that. And the service in the restaurant was good, the older male waiter especially was genuinely friendly towards customers. Hotel clientele was mostly German, over 60 years plus quite a few Russians. If you are fine with that, this is your hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay at Afandou Bay Resort. It was quiet enough without being a ghost town and busy enough with being rowdy or party central. It's located in a really good spot with its own beach a short 2 minute walk from the pool. (Be aware that the sunbeds are not the hotels , on the beach, which you have to pay to rent, but the beach has soft enough sand to put your towel down and sit/lie). The reception is nice and big and the staff were good. (If you want a room safe it's 28 euro per week) Check in was easy enough and the walk to the room not long. The restaurant was good with a decent amount of vegetarian options and a good range of other foods. The lady making the omelette at breakfast and pasta etc at night was a particularly lovely friendly lady who takes pride in her work. The rooms are a good standard and beds very comfortable. The pool is a good size, clean and the surrounding area with sunbeds are all tidy. (A point to note with the pool is that locals are allowed in to drink and bring their kids to swin , quite common in Greek Islands, but they can get a bit loud with their squealing and playing... but it didn't bother us too much but worth mentioning). Pool bar was a great place to sit, drink and eat (prices are reasonable - 7 euro for a cocktail and around the same for pizza etc if you want to eat). Overall a great hotel , great location, good staff and food.
