TownePlace Suites Richland Columbia Point

Excellent stay. Staff was top notch and incredibly friendly. Room was clean and well appointed. The free breakfast was about what you'd expect but the coffee was excellent and was available all day. At checkin we were given coupons for a free appetizer at 2 different local restaurants. We will stay here again.

I stay in Marriotts all over the world.. this has to be the worst experience EVER! Stayed at this Marriott for a month and was treated well as an Ambassador Elite member. I took a week vacation to the Philippines, and when I returned all my belongings were gone through, and I hand alot of stuff missing, including currency I collected from other countries as souvenirs. Never felt so violated in my life. Beware of this Marriott, so many more better and honest Marriotts in the area.

I've traveled to multiple TownePlace Suites and this one doesn't quite measure up, unfortunately. Overall, it's clean good views up floors 3 or 4. Very close by quality restaurants/bars -- easy walking distance. Free parking is fairly plentiful. Front desk tries to be helpful. On the downside, there is no swimming pool, neither indoor or outdoor. The door entry technology is old and fails frequently. I had to change out my door electronic key 3 times! Time to replace the system. The bathrooms are dates, using curtains and having thin towels. Breakfast is squeezed space wise, and not as good as other TownePlace Suites I have stayed at. Even worse, when I arrived for breakfast at 6:30 a.m., the main dining area trash can was already full to the top! And there were hardly any egg items remaining to be consumed, and the coffee was lukewarm. The cups used for waffle batter were insufficient to truly make a full waffle. Where's the server!! If you're unlucky, you'll get an "upgrade" that faces a major highway and impacted by noise. Thankfully I bring earplugs. Last, the value (nightly cost) this time of year is terribly overpriced. To pay over $200 plus tax for this experience does not reflect good value.

Don't stay here. I was forced to stay here again due to availability and it was even worse than the first time. TV did not work, card keys didn't work, was stuck in the front door trying to get back in at 4am and the card reader is STILL NOT WORKING to let guests back in. Finally back in, my keys did not open my door, sitting in the hallway waiting for someone to come up with working keys to let me into my room. Tried to get a manager on the phone? Nope. Didn't call back. Multiple attempts just to get a manager to call you back unsuccessful. Lazy, failure of an operation. Old Review from Jul 2023: I would avoid this one ... 2-star level rooms with dated design (see their own pics) and a noisy air conditioner that sit below the window and click on/off all night. Very difficult front desk person arguing with me that my Marriott gold status doesn’t work there. TV is the size of a computer monitor with partially burned out back light. (Have pics) Had hair from another human on my bed covering. (Have pics) Beds are hard. Pillows are not great. Front door doesn’t open after 11pm even though there’s a card reader that doesn’t work. Internet doesn’t work with the “fast option” – had to select the “basic” slower option. Won’t be back for a while – sometimes hotels can turn themselves around. Location is good if you want quick access to Columbia Point – that’s about it.
