Traveller SwissSimply a fantastic hotel in Riga! The Grand Poet impresses across the board – from its beautiful, stylish atmosphere to its excellent service. We were especially thrilled with the amazing spa area: perfect for completely unwinding and relaxing after a day in Riga. 🧖♀️✨
The rooms are elegant and comfortable, the location is ideal, and the entire ambiance exudes true luxury. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the very first minute.
For me, definitely one of the best addresses in Riga – absolutely recommended! We would return anytime.

Guest UserIt's a short walk from Riga Bus Station, and the Old Town is also easily accessible on foot. If you arrive earlier than check-in, you can store your luggage first. Our room was too small, and room 801 was next to the outdoor air conditioning unit, making it a side room with no view to speak of. The breakfast selection was decent, enough to fill you up.

An extraordinary building ; one of the most architecturally impressive hotels in which I can remember staying, with wonderfully helpful staff and a location that can not be bettered -- with a commendable breakfast. Five stars ! But then . . .
Beautifully configured and equipped rooms but, constraints on urban buildings being what they are, and the architects having elected a stunning central skylit air- and light-well, our room, at least, had no window. Where was one to be placed, after all ? The air-conditioning worked well, but truly fresh air was not available.
The housekeeping staff had neglected the bathroom attached to the room that we used. Hair, a cotton-tipped applicator stick, and -- simply -- dirt were on the tiles. This can happen. It was very different from the rest of the experience of the stay. But there it was.
Have a look around when you check in. Ask for a repeat cleaning of your room if you think one is necessary. Enjoy your stay.

Amazing stay! The staff is incredibly kind, welcoming, and patient—always willing to help with anything you need. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The rooms were spotless, we are three adults booking they let us stayed in two connected rooms. Beds are comfort enough. Perfect location just at the side of the Old City. We came from Tallin and left to Vilnius by bus, the bus station just 3 minutes walk. Everything about this hotel was excellent—I highly recommend it!

Paid extra, service very poor. Arrived to check-in, nobody to serve, no receptionist at the desk. Did wait around 10 minutes, gave a call, no answer, but the receptionist arrived. Then went to their restaurant, very vague service. No cocktails on the meniu (that's what we came for), asked and then the waiter gave separate cocktails menu. Finally came back to room and realised my bed sheet is dirty! Went to reception and asked to change it since we just arrived. Same person from reception came with new duvet and linen, had replace myself, meaning lack of staff if the same person does everything within entire hotel. Breakfast decent, saw people drinking wine, but it wasn't marked as it's included in the breakfast or not and bottle sits aside from all the breakfast on the bar table.

MikeJMJonesWe were extremely happy with our stay at Hotel Justus. The hotel is located in the middle of the beautiful Riga Old Town, only a 3-minute walk to the Christmas Markets, 5-minute walk to the famous churches, and 20 minutes to the Art Nouveau District which houses some of the art galleries and museums. We stayed on the third floor in a standard double room. The room was spacious enough for a couple, had a well-functioning bathroom and also a comfortable bed and pillows. The room was well heated for the sub-zero temperatures. It has lifts. Breakfasts were delicious with both hot and cold dishes - scrambled egg pie, crispy bacon, sausages, fresh vegetables, porridge, pickled herring, wheat and rye bread, fruit and pastries. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, providing information for the major galleries and museums and even helping me find the Leica store. Before the holiday, manager, Einars was extremely helpful finding us a private driver to drive us from Riga to Tallinn at the end of our stay. This is a very historic, boutique hotel with a cosy ambience. I believe the restaurant on the ground floor is open in peak seasons. Nearby are at ;
least 20 restaurants and cafes, and many bars. A wonderful stay, thank you.

Guest UserGreat location and has what you need if you're a standard backpacker...although the security is something to consider. Padlock your bags and suitcases because don't expect to fit much in the very small lockers. Also, the rooms are keypad locked but from what I've experienced, the people that you're sharing a dorm with may not all respect that the door should be closed/locked behind them when they enter and exit, so think hard about what you can afford to be stolen if if this happens. Generally though, it does feel like a safe environment but still good to be mindful.
Finally, you'll be sharing space and communal areas with a few staff/handymen throughout your stay. If you don't speak Russian, they'll likely not acknowledge you at all and they may just enter your dorm for some reason known only to them, without an explanation or forewarning. Just be mindful of your belongings and don't take things personally.

Very friendly and helpful staff, hotel room was clean and comfortable. Decent location, a bit far from all the touristy places and stuff. However, the hotel is situated right next to a tram line which is a big bonus. Only downside is that it lacked the amenities, however it was stated upon booking, so I cannot complain.

Guest UserHotel is very conveniently located, next to the mall and central station, minutes walk to the bus station, central market and old town. Check in was perfect and helpful with city map provided. Kettle, cups, sachet tea and coffee are provided, shampoo, hand soap, tissue paper, shower cap were provided in the bathroom. Would be good if they provided body lotion and hair conditioner. Sadly, the power plugs at the desk does not fit a travel adaptor and there are no usb ports. The single bed was right next to the curtain and a mirror is right in front of the bed, very weird room design. There’s a safe deposit box in the room. Do remember to bring your own slippers as no room slippers are provided.

The location is absolutely superb. The hotel is a bit old, but it has a charming atmosphere, if you can overlook the wear and tear on the floors, doors, and table, and other renovation imperfections. For the price, it's tolerable. I would have liked shampoo and possibly conditioner (especially since there are less essential items like a shower cap and comb, but the shower gel is a 3-in-1 type that doesn't lather well). The staff are pleasant and speak multiple languages. For some reason, they ask all guests to fill out a form with personal details, which I hadn't encountered before. Soundproofing is non-existent, so I recommend exploring Riga thoroughly to ensure a deep sleep and avoid being woken by corridor or street noise. The view from the window was also beautiful. Another nice touch was the mini-fridge in the room, and the room was cleaned even though we only stayed for two nights.
