Boatique Hotel and Marina

If you’re on the fence about this trip, don’t hesitate…go!! Of all the places I’ve traveled, this has been a favorite. It’s a unique, beautiful getaway. It’s accessible only by a 5 minute boat ride. Realize that if it’s raining (as it was when we arrived), your luggage may get wet. Be prepared to bag up your luggage if it needs protected. The owners are personable and make you feel right at home. They showed us the howler monkeys way up on the trees and gave us a bit of history of the place. They have created a wonderful, sustainable, eco-friendly vacation spot. The food is made to order and so fresh and yummy, all locally sourced. The amenities are charming and all about relaxation. Some people in our group took a sunset catamaran tour. Others had an hour long massage. We opted to just lie around in the hammocks and at the pool and relax. In a world where it’s hard to forget the worries of the world, this is the perfect place to just let it go. Also, we were shocked (in a good way!) at how affordable our stay was. You can’t stay in a cheap, roach infested hotel for that price! Again, Boatique gets all the stars because they’re all that and so much more. I hope to someday go back for an even longer getaway.

The location is Idyllic! Everything from the hut style rooms, open air, beautifully designed restaurant/ bar, and many areas to relax are delightful. The food and drinks are excellent and not overpriced (although more expensive that other areas of Guatemala that is to be expected given where you are!). The service is also exceptional, Stephanie in particular was absolutely lovely and extremely helpful throughout our stay (despite only having been at the hotel for a week or 2). The nature at the hotel is also wonderful to see, having seen: Snakes, Monkeys, Birds, Fish and even an Otter! The hotel was not overcrowded making the stay calm and relaxing at all times.

We were captivated by the place from the very beginning. It's picturesquely situated in a quiet cove with a marina. The friendly and helpful staff accommodated our group in cottages next to each other. It's incredible that you can hear monkeys calling from the nearby forest on the hotel grounds. The property itself is beautifully and stylishly decorated in a boho style. The food is delicious and appetizingly presented. The cottages have air conditioning, a private bathroom, and a comfortable bed in the loft with a view of nature. I hope we'll return here for a longer stay :)

It the most beautiful place I stayed in guatemala, it's the perfect to chill and relax! The food is amazing and the views are great! Weather wasnt the best but still was an amazing stay!Everyone is super friendly. Also the full daytour you can do is really fun!

Beautiful place and lovely staff, very attentive the staff. The grounds are very clean and simply beautiful. The food is amazing, tours amazing, I really enjoyed my stay. Wanted to stay longer, but they were booked up. So if you can in, it's the best!

One of the most magical places I’ve ever stayed! Everyone at Boatique was so warm, welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate my stay. Not only is this hostel and the location beautiful, but the attention to detail is exquisite. The facilities (hammocks, yoga mats, pool, games etc) are great, bathrooms always spotless and the little touches really makes it feel like home. While you can’t bring food in the restaurant here is delicious and has a wide range depending on your budget. I highly recommend the Robalo cooked in banana leaf and the Buddha Bowl! The daily free shuttle system is also great for reaching Rio Dulce and I’d recommend the Playa Blanca day tour with Luis. A special shout out to Freddy who was always happy to help with a big smile on his face, including practising my rusty Spanish! Couldn’t recommend enough. Thank you for the memories Boatique!!
