The Casa dei Gabbiani stands on a small rural house used as an animal shelter, renovated and enlarged in 1986, perched on a cliff. The exterior is in stone, entirely immersed in the Mediterranean scrub. Being inside, the feeling is that of being suspended between the land and the sea. West exposure gives the light until the sun sets behind Enfola or Capraia, depending on the season. On clear days it is possible to see Corsica. Just below the cliff there is the Zuppignano beach, reachable on foot. Other paths start not far from the house, passable on foot or by mountain bike. Magical Getaway on Elba
We've had a fantastic time with my family in Gabbiani house. The house is well-maintained, while carefully preserving its original design and elements. Perfect layout of rooms, beautiful furniture, pictures on the walls, even plates and utensils fit perfectly together.
The location is wonderful, just like described on the pictures. You get to see stunning sunsets every evening from any room! There are no neighbours besides lizards and gekkos.
The footpath to the beach requires some dexterity and adequate footwear - it's not for everyone. The beach itself is clean, pretty, and not very packed (the room for the boats to anchor is limited). But due to the challenge of climbing, we only went there twice - once on foot, and another time on a boat, which was super easy to rent in Bagnaia.
A couple of minor technical things to note - the washing machine wasn't functioning properly, and there is no range hood over the stove (which makes cooking a bit less fun in the heat). But these were indeed minor, and we've had an truly magical time at the Gabbiani house. Hoping to be back there some day!

Casa dei Gabbiani
Great place to have quiet space and relax. The birdsong so much of the day was beautiful. The views were spectacular. The hike down to the isolated beach was definitely steep, and ran into a few critters, but easy enough for all of us to get to the beach and enjoy the near solitude (except for a few fishing boats, a kayak, and a couple of tourists who landed from a boat). Looking forward to returning - hope it's not too far in the future!!

magical property
the house was amazing. simple, clean, tasteful, private. we loved staying here and plan on coming back as often as we can. having access to your own beach was also great. we couldn’t ask for more from a house and an island. definitely recommend it

Wonderful spot with a view
The home is beautiful and easy to get to and access. Everything you need there and a lovely place to spend a holiday. The view is unparalleled and stunning for sunsets.
