On the day of check in I kept seeing the room being changed in the IHG App. It was upgraded then downgraded and then eventually upgraded but not with the pool view as previously. I called reception and was reassured everything was fine. I asked about some details of their offerings due to Ramadan only to be told things that were then simply not true. Arrived late in the evening and checked in as a Diamond Elite Ambassador. I was told that the Club Lounge is not working apart from morning breakfast which would run to 11am (we later found out that this was only until 10am) but all was fine. I wasn’t given any welcome amenity since breakfast was not being served in the main restaurant and everything was closed completely during daylight hours. There was no use of a 20$ coupon, not that it was mentioned because there was nowhere to spend it. Honestly, I was a bit annoyed that they couldn’t even have the lounge open for drinks and snacks for those not fasting. I rang reception only for them to keep connecting me to room service. They didn’t speak very good English and I was constantly misunderstood. The one saving grace was due to the lack of evening lounge service they offered Iftar in the restaurant. The restaurant and food were lovely and this is something we really enjoyed. Though one night the restaurant manager phoned my room and said we have escaped without paying. I obviously wasn’t too happy about this and this is what lets the hotel down. There doesn’t seem to be any communication between staff. I asked again on check out for my welcome amenity to be told that it might be given after check out. Very poor I must say, but after I filled in a survey a manager did get back to me and sorted everything out taking care of these issues. We loved the ambience of the hotel, the room was clean and very spacious and we loved the indoor pools, they were really warm. We had a very relaxing time and did enjoy our visit despite the issues we encountered.
