We had a great time at 'Au Lit Des Ours' in Rochefort, the Belgian Ardennes! What a terrific and cosy hotel at walking distance from the famous Grottes de Han. Clean and spacious rooms, delicious breakfast and a good restaurant. Désirée is also a must visit, well known for its famous 'gaufres' or Belgian waffles. We come back!

The hotel is in the center of town, right next to the main attractions. Free parking is not a given. The hotel is in an old building, the rooms are functionally furnished. All in all, the hotel is in good condition, the cleanliness is impeccable. The lady at reception is friendly and responds immediately to questions or complaints. We did not have breakfast or dinner on site.

Pleasant hotel with a friendly welcome. Easy and free parking. Some downsides for the room: floor covering damaged in certain places, no tissues or trash can in the bathroom, toilet too close to the bathtub. The breakfast is plentiful and varied. The Arthur restaurant is cozy and the dishes are decent but a little overrated in terms of quality/price.

Top hotel! Beautiful rooms! Nice breakfast and the restaurant was also recommended. Have been there with friends and will definitely do it again! In the summer you can go there with your motorcycle and you can park it in a closed parking lot.

Rooms OK Breakfast OK Weak and unhospitable service, however, in the tea room and brasserie: - Due to miserable traffic jams on the Brussels ring road and motorway, we arrived very late on Friday: at 10.45 pm. Looking forward to a Trappist beer from Rochefort, I quickly entered the restaurant/bar. Unfortunately, they could no longer serve us due to closing at... 11 p.m.... While a group of 10 people were still busy with the 'last consommation'. -In the afternoon after visiting the caves, on the terrace of the 'brasserie': after waiting 10 minutes, we went inside and asked if we could order. Unfriendly answer: you will have to wait a while... It was busy inside; there were +/- ... 20 people. How long do we have to wait? Still half an hour! Que? We left... -In the afternoon - after a nice walk - a pancake in the 'tea room' around 3:55 PM? Désolé, the kitchen closes at 4:00 PM... - Last attempt on Sunday: a pancake in the tea room around 3:30 PM? Ah... that doesn't work anymore because on Sundays 'the kitchen' closes at 3 p.m.... I asked between what time and what time they actually allow people to eat pancakes?! The young lady, who did not mean anything bad, of course had a lot of sensible things to say about this. Almost madness... We are not too difficult, but this does not come across as hospitable and shows a complete lack of commercial feeling... A bit typical of the region apparently, as we have had to conclude several times, to our regret and irritation.

I would like to express my opinion regarding the brasserie corner. A waiter was hateful towards our table, he was in a bad mood, rude, and particularly haughty. Asking him politely for the bill particularly irritated him and made it clear to us that he didn't have time to take care of that! It would be wonderful if the quality of the staff matched the prices! The hotel is probably charming but avoid this brasserie!

Nice hotel with friendly service. The recently renovated rooms are tastefully decorated and have a large bathroom with walk-in shower. The bar has a cozy atmosphere and you can enjoy aperitifs by the fireplace. The food in the Arthur restaurant was well prepared and delicious. Large parking lot at the hotel. Recommended !
