I honestly don’t mind the beach but I would rather have a pool so when I book a hotel that isn’t beach front but has a pool with loungers that’s what I expect. I’ve been doing the lounger olympics for decades now but never as bad as this. 6am and they are all gone and by 10am sometimes there aren’t even any rickety old deckchairs available. Your 1st option is a roof top bar with loungers but not 1 bit of shade and no breeze so is too hot for most people during the day the roof bar only opens 4pm till 6pm lots of stairs to get to the pool. 2nd option is the beach a 5to10min walk up the road and they give you a cool box with beer if you want, loungers aren’t great brollies are a nightmare in the wind and it’s not that flat and no public facilities. 7or8 rooms on the 1st floor have 2 loungers that people don’t use swap them with the rickety old deckchairs swap the roof top loungers with the deckchairs and you more than double the amount of loungers! Staff are first class exceptional and second to none (except for 1supervisor/manager) Food is Great if you can’t find anything to eat stay at home or go self catering. Rooms and hotel are absolutely spotless. We have loved this holiday, this hotel and the staff and everything about it, nothing is perfect and you can get past little niggles but the lounger issue has spoiled my whole holiday I know it sounds like an over reaction but it really has ruined an otherwise perfect get away.

Paul & I thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay at Soco House, St Lucia. A well appointed boutique hotel - themed in blue & white. Comfortable beds and spotlessly clean - shout out to Charmaine. All inclusive package made it very good value in our opinion. Good range of branded spirits, quality wines served with meals and the local Piton beer is most refreshing on another hot and sunny day in the Caribbean! Shout out to all the bar staff who were more than happy to keep the drinks and poolside cocktails flowing. Bottled water readily available too. Well maintained pool and appealing surroundings- with billowing cabanas to keep you cool & comfy. Close to Reduit Beach - hotel cool boxes are a nice touch. But what makes this hotel memorable is its staff. Cindy (Accommodation Manager) is calm, efficient, friendly and professional. Everyone was friendly and keen to please - so it made it a relaxing and welcoming place to be. Tip - reserve a cabana for a day to ensure you have one - small cost as includes personal food & drink service.

Fabulous, laid back holiday experience at Soco House . The staff are exceptional, friendly , helpful and great senses of humour . The rooms are clean , the beds are large and very comfortable . The AI food is all A La Carte, and the menus change every few days. We enjoyed every meal , lots of choices and so well presented . The drinks are plentiful and good quality .

Had a fabulous Christmas and New Year at the Soco House. The staff are incredibly friendly and really cannot do enough to help. The rooms are cleaned daily and new towels are provided. All rooms are pool facing. We spoke to one couple who were told by their travel agent in the UK that they had to pay extra for a pool facing view. Luckily, they did not pay it. The location is ideal. Less than 5 minutes to the beach and around 10 minutes to walk into the Rodney Bay bar / restaurant area. The entertainment put on for New Years Eve was excellent and serving Lobster for dinner was a bonus. The only downfall we can raise really is the lack of communication in the kitchen. My wife is Wheat intolerant, and it can cause an anaphylactic shock. Just a couple of weeks prior to travelling she had a cardiac arrest. We filled out a form on the front desk about the allergy when we arrived and told the front of house reception along with the restaurant front of house, but this was never communicated to the chef and so for the first week we were given food containing wheat even though the staff were told about the allergy. Managed to resolve though by speaking to Edmund the General Manager. Edmund immediately called over the chef and the Chef was more than accommodating for us. He took our dinner orders in the morning during breakfast and did a special meal for the rest of our stay. I have read many mixed reviews of this place, and our experience was overall very positive. Waiting times for meals were generally up to 10 minutes. there was one day where the kitchen had a staff shortage, and we waited 45 minutes for breakfast but we were in no rush so didn't mind. All of the staff were very friendly and always willing to stop for a chat. The sunbeds on the beach are a bit tired but if you ask nicely Val will let you use the nicer beds she reserves for tourists. A word of warning about the beach, you will get a lot of mither from the locals. The licensed vendors are fine but then you get the strays trying to sell you ***** / beer / coconuts / grass hats / mangoes / cocktails.....its none stop. you also get them asking for beer, food & money. You tell them know but within half an hour they return and try again. We have no reservation in recommending the Soco house. Also due to plane issues lots of people were being sent to the Soco house from the airport as their flight had been cancelled and the hotel, they were staying in was fully booked. Everyone we spoke to said that the Soco house was better than the hotel they had come from. We left the hotel with lots of new friends & great memories. The other guests and staff were all wonderful.

The hotel is cute, but the rooms need renovations. The setup is outdated. The crowd was more on the older side, and the vibes were quiet and chill. This is not a turn up type of hotel. The food was good. I really enjoyed the Lucian breakfast!!! Eloise was amazing!! We looked forward to seeing her for dinner each night. She really made the experience better. She is a GEM :)

My first time to the beautiful island of St Lucia, and it did not disappoint. Such a beautiful island. Soco House is situated in the Gros Inlet area, on Rodney Bay. A small hotel, which appears to be in operation for a number of years based on the condition, but overall in good repair. Who made the stay such a good experience were notably Saf and Vaughan at the bar. Davaugne, Jane, Daina and Sharline on the wait staff were very helpful as well. The food was delicious and well presented. Dinners typically offered 5 separate options over 3 courses of meal. Dinner options changed up every 3-4 days, allowing for some variance in food choices. The breakfast menu was the same, with relatively slow service, but for us it was a relaxing breakfast. Food was well prepared and tasty. More options in getting an early morning coffee would have been helpful. ie coffee station or someone manning an espresso maching would have been nice. Th hotel bars close at 10, which made for an early end to the evening. However you could go to the restaurant district down the street which had bars open later. The rooms were clean and comfortable, however a bit run down. There were no shower doors, which allowed water to spill out over the dated bathroom. Everything in the room worked well and was comfortable. The balcony door was wood, an creaked open and looked like it could have been made to fit better. The sunbeds at the pool were left out several times during the rain storms, and didnt appear to be in good repair. There were personnel moving the cushions in a out but they had stains on them, so we avoided them. Pool was in good condition and clean, however small. The beach is a short walk and unfortunately once there, the beach looked a bit sketchy, with approaching vendors. The Royalton hotel has acquired property along the beach and is apparently in the beginning stages of renewal. A quite can be annoying and disruptive, which is a common occurance in the Caribbean.

This was a small boutique hotel and the price made it affordable as St. Lucia has always been way out of reach with my budget. Our room was adequate, however all rooms on the 2nd floor do not have any balconies or access to an outside sitting area. We were on the 2nd floor unfortunately. The restaurant was our biggest issue. First off let me say that I am a go with the flow, easily pleased, hey I'm at the beach so don't sweat the small stuff kind of person. But .....Every meal is a la carte and only changes every second day for each meal. So if you don't like anything on that menu, you are out of luck for 2 days. I can always eat pasta if nothing else but everytime it was made with hot sauce. The time between courses was way too long, sometimes up to 40 minutes from your salad till your main course is received and it is cold. I get the idea not having buffets at ever meal however once in a while would be good. Lunchtime could be more laid back with better choices. No entertainment means this is a very quiet place. More entertainment is needed. My husband doesn't drink alcohol so there was very little options for him with regards to beverages. The general manager (Edmond I think his name was) was going around on a regular basis asking if things were ok, however little was done. If there was an issue. Won't be back here, should have paid more money and stayed across the street at the Bay Gardens Resort where we heard the food was exceptional.

This is a small and friendly hotel just 5 minutes walk from the beach where you can access free sun beds there. The staff here are so friendly and the service (although sometimes slow in the restaurant) never bothered us. We were on holiday so never ones to rush. Even though we never complained about the wait, we were often apologised to. The food is worth waiting for and we enjoyed dining a la carte as opposed to buffet. Enjoyed everything we ate so much. Especially the curries. The rooms and main areas are always clean and tidy. It’s in a great location, 2 minutes walk from the nearest bar, 5 minutes walk from Spinnakers and lots of other bars and restaurants as well as the town centre with shops in under 10 minutes walk. The walk is safe and locals will say morning to you as you pass them. We had the loveliest time and it was totally down to the staff, the food and the location.
