Jarrah Grove Forest Retreat

What an amazing tranquil escape we had in this incredible chalet. Sam and Lee made sure we had everything we needed. Having a welcome note and bottle of bubbly a very nice surprise. Also being able to bring our pup who was celebrating her 15th birthday made it very special. The chalet is equiped with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Very modern and quality furniture. So very peaceful walking through the trails in the forest around the chalet. A very memorable trip.

We stayed here with our dogs on an anniversary weekend. The chalet is in a beautiful location among tall trees and flowering shrubs and ground cover. The chalet is also beautiful- so well presented with thoughtful welcoming messages treats, hints and wine. We loved our wanders through the bush. We also loved how close we were to great food, sightseeing and wine.

This place was a great find. Highly recommend it. Competitive price for what you get. Property is very well- kept, only 2 chalet, which are private and surrounded by beautiful bushland, about 10-15 mins drive from Margaret River (Witchcliffe is closer and has a really good pie shop, with good coffee too!). Spa on the deck, big bath inside, fireplace, air conditioning and fully stocked amenities, with washing machine, cooking appliances, dishwasher - you could live here very comfortably. Perfect for a getaway just the two of you. Of course there is lots to see and do around the region as well - beaches, caves, driving, wine, restaurants, shopping - bring back some gourmet supplies. Check in and out was via txt message, no need to see anyone. Loved it. Hope to visit again.

Just outside of Margaret River are these gorgeous luxury chalets. Spa outside, huge bath inside, log fire and on 86 acres. We also took our dog who had loads of room to run around and sniff out the area. The chalets are well appointed and include everything you need for a fabulous time away. A quick drive into town and yet the feeling of being miles from anywhere. We will definitely return to this gorgeous place.

It wasn’t our first stay and won’t be our last……Pictures cannot explain the peace and tranquility of Jarrah Grove Retreat. From the moment you arrive you will be taken to a memorable place that you won’t want to leave. My partner and I booked a few days away and booked within 7 days of travel and paid $1201.5 upfront on my credit card in accordance with their booking conditions. Unfortunately, the weather turned very nasty on the evening prior to travel, so inclement DFES issued a severe weather warning indicating travel to be dangerous which included the Margaret River region. During the mid-morning on the day of travel the weather deteriorated and we lost power to our home so we decided it was unsafe to travel and emailed the venue. They replied that the weather was not that bad down their way and others had travelled from Perth but we did not want to take the risk. The forecast for the week was bleak and we were not willing to risk our safety to travel down. When we enquired about some sort of refund the venue put it back on us that we chose not to travel which I think was unreasonable noting the conditions. The weather was obviously severe in Margaret River because a massive tree fell down in their driveway on the 2nd day of our booked dates. They put a picture of the fallen tree being cleaned up by a tractor on their social media but did not accept we did not travel due to the weather conditions, go figure? I accept that we cancelled last minute but it was due to the severe weather including losing power in our home for more than 24 hours. During the negotiation phase of trying to recoup some lost money I emailed them the DFES warnings (which highlighted the Margaret River region) and I offered to meet me half way and asked for a refund of $600. They refused to refund anything and stuck to the dates in their policy with zero compassion blaming us for not travelling and not being able to rebooking the venue with somebody else. I advised of Legal and Consumer Protection WA action and Sam and Lee were more than happy for me to peruse this. This retreat has zero compassion for the circumstances if you cancel within their specified timeframe. If you book this retreat pray that the weather is good or you don’t have a personal tragedy that prevents you from travelling within the cancellation timeframe because you will not get your money back. I was refunded $300 for this matter to go away and I dropped the legal and consumer protection proceedings. I am sure Sam and Lee will counter this claim but I have proof justify every word in this review.
